Probably the best Transmission video out there for Patriot/ Compass drivers. Simple to follow Brilliant information easily taken onboard :) Thank you, this has helped more than you know🤙

this was very helpful! I accidently hit the gear shift and it threw it into 2nd gear. I had no idea how to disengage it and go back to my normal drive setting. I had to put the Jeep in Neutral and then back to do drive in order to fix it. Now, I understand that all I need to do is hold it to the right in order for it to revert back to normal...thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

Since i learned I could do this for my 2013 Jeep Wrangler, I have no intention of ever using "D" again. I see absolutely no reason for a auto transmission that shifts at bad times in the real world, can't figure out what gear to be in on up hills, and feels like it is slipping when trying to decide,--just to gain 1 mile per gallon. I will bet I can achieve better gas mileage with what should be called, "manual shift". I was hating this transmission so badly with this used jeep I just bought, I was looking for a manual transmission for it when I found a vid like this. Problem solved. :)

1st day with a 2025 Jeep Renegade (not in the US, naturally), and after trying that Autostick for the 1st time I noticed the system won't let you freely decide which gear to select anytime you want, as it would happen in a regular manual system. It seems to depend on the engine's RPM and/or the vehicle's speed at each moment; so, depending on these factors, it will (or will not) allow some specific gear change. This is how it works, isn't it?

"This video is not intended to take the place of your owners manual." it was "additive" to my owners manual, as the manual mentions nothing about the feature for the 2013 Wrangler. Since that very important information is missing from the owners manual, I am now wondering if the Jeep can fly too. :)

If it is fine when cold, but acts up when driven a few miles, I would suspect the cats are too restrictive causing the engine to heat up too much, (even if the water temps gauge looks normal, and it will), and the computer puts the engine in a limp mode.

Mary Baker 777 1st gear 0-25 mph, 2nd gear 25-40 mph, 3rd gear 40-55 mph, 4th gear 55-70 mph, 5th gear 70-85 mph, 6th gear 85-110 mph. You go up in gears by moving the shifter to the right as you speed up and move the shifter to the left to go down gears and slow down.

No 1st gear that's only if taking off and if going down a hill/off-roading at low speeds if you see your rpm go beyond 4,000 then you probably want the next gear bra.
