The next day I'm watching as a viewer at home this great match between two great players and your KZbin Subscribe ad pops up flashing just as Karl is kicking the 3-ball masking his shot. I could tell afterwards he missed it, but it's frustrating when you can't see it happen. To the English commentator: Please don't ask the British commentator any more questions because after asking one question about when he met Jason, he wouldn't stop talking about everything else while both players played on with their match which he should have been making comments on.

The "English commentator" is Darren Appleton, multiple world champion, 7-time Mosconi Cup winner. I understand that some might wish to have more direct comments on the game, but for the others (like me) the stories he tells (e.g. like on how he met Jason) are wonderful.

9:59 If Appleton had been concentrating on the game instead of gabbing about his trips to the PI he'd have heard the referee called the foul first. There was no "great sportsmanship" on his pal Boyes' part. You didn't mention your times in Bangkok, Darren, did they not help as well as the PI trips?

Later in the match the American asked the U.K. commentator how he liked the Accurack template. He said he liked the really thin ones which I like also because I've seen in past matches the more thicker templates actually alter the path of balls rolling over them. In one match, I saw a rolling ball's direction of travel suddenly travel nearly two inches as it passed over the template altering a dead-in combo. Near the end of the match at score tied 9 to 9 Jason shot an illegal break which is now better called a non-compliant break. Nevertheless, it's a bad rule in pro-play 9-ball, so to ignore the rule to keep the play between them fair, Karl should have just given the table back to Jason.

If a ball was moved I can see a legitimate foul, but just touching the 8 ball is absurd and shouldn't be supported by the players. Jason should have just given the table back to Karl after the referee called that foul.

I disagree, the rule is all ball fouls, and all the players know it. So if you touch a ball it's a foul, and Jason can not just give the table back to him, he is trying to win the U.S. Open and he would be crazy to not take a ball in hand on a valid foul.
