2015 Kia Cee'd 1 Litre Review - Inside Lane

The 2015 Kia Cee'd 1 Litre joins Ford and Vauxhall with a three cylinder turbocharged engine. This Kia Pro_Cee'd GT Line brings style with its 3 door profile and funky design features as well as good economy. It produces 118BHP from the new 1.0 litre engine and claims 57.6 MPG.
Is the Kia Cee'd 1 litre a match for other brands turbo petrol units?

He did however pull a punch on MPG, went to great pains to tell the viewer how well the car dealt with the commute but only added the manufactures mpg figure, which I thought would had been a perfect opportunity to tell the viewer a real world mpg figure? More so I don't get why manufactures are so "dishonest" on mpg (yes I know it's done in a lab so that all round the world cars are going down the same "make believe" road). It doesn't take long before your customers believe you to be as trust worthy as an estate agent (which is not at all).

I have one, in black, I have had it over a year now and I think a few points you make are wrong, it may be a 1.0 but its a powerful one if used properly, I have pulled away from cars you wouldn't expect. And yes I can and will do a video to back this up. It its high end this engine can pull from 70 to 100 in 6th gear like its in 4th. They are faster than you think. Steering is great, and comes in handy. I think people that review cars expect way too much of the same thing out of every car and from that you underestimate things.

I purchased the 2016 1.6 crdi ceed 2 little less than 2 weeks ago, I must say its a brilliant car! its very comfortable, easy to drive and manage to hit 72.4 mpg on A roads.

Its red. that 74 mpg was a fluke :( haven't got anywhere near that since. getting around 56 on A roads and 60 on motorways.

I wonder if time will tell with reliability, VAG have had problems with small capacity turbo engines, Ford have had problems with small capacity turbo engines, the Japanese manufactures are moving back to higher capacity "lazy" engines and it would seem direct injection is another iteration that caused more problems than it solved (carbon fouling) again with the Japanese moving back in part to port injection (so the fuel, basically a solvent, "washes" the back of the valves of carbon deposits and has a cooling action).

I wonder if there is a Diesel motor coming? What is the economy like as in "real world" - You clearly done alot of miles, so curious how much it would cost to fill the Petrol car up and how many miles overall you achieved.

+sonicr360 There is a diesel on offer this year. "Real world" is hard to gauge because the results are not repeatable, however, I got about 45MPG out of it.

its a nice car but im not a fan of those we have a kia cee'd SW 2008 just problems and problems.... 1500€ the clutch reasently and same time something whit the diesel to the engine its takes to much air or something??? at the same time cost 1000€ everything just on the same time. And we need to have the towtruck three times to our place and get the car so its not a good car

+Jimi Kivilompolo Sorry to hear you have had issues. This is a totally different car to the 2008 model and does come with a 7 year warranty.

I drive Ceed 2008 model and so far it drives without problems, clutch still strong. 154 000 kms without any major problems. Reliable car. Replaceable clutch can't be 1500 euros, that's typo I believe.
