Recently purchased a 2015 kx450 and am completely new to the air fork setup and was wondering if there is supposed to be oil in the air fork it’s self? Noticed oil coming from the inner chamber port when bleeding the air pressure back down to zero

Yes there is oil in air and damper side. Air side these is oil is all three chambers Inner , Outer and Balance.

sorry I'm a new, but can the air caps and top of the clicker be reversed to point toward the rider? Wondering because visually it doesn't look like you could put the bars i the most forward position on the 2015x450 with out using raisers, or reversing the cap directions..

You can angle the cap any way you'd like by spinning the upper tube in the triple clamps. Hope this answers your question, if not please let us know. Thanks for watching!

you can also let all the air out of the inner chamber and turn the green inner cap, so that the two valves are facing whatever direction you want. You will want to let the air out of the balance chamber before you air the inner chamber back up to your setting then the balance chamber would be next. Turning the cap might be a bit sticky depending how long its been since it has been apart and dirt and grime down in there. I just serviced mine and it was a little gummed up, but when I put it back together, I didn't have them facing the rite direction so I was able to turn them without having to turn the fork tubes.

My air side is leaking oil after 16 hours of ride time and it was light riding as well on my 2016 have you guys had durability problems with these forks?

No we have not experienced any durability issues with them. Would have to say its a bit of bad luck.

I have a 2016 KX450F i had converted to spring while I was out of country so it was quite a while until I got home to see or ride the bike and when I got home,there's no instructions on how to adjust or maintain the forks now and I'm sorry I'm a noob and don't know the mechanics of newer suspension. Well when you shake the handlebars there's a rattle in the spring side. So i called the shop that did it and was laughed at because it needs the preload adjusted and i don't know how to go about doing that. Anyone have any suggestions for me?

I just bought 15' kx450 last week and rode twice...my 2nd ride I notice off a couple jumps which had small kickers or braking bumps on the face would have the front end popping higher than the rear,i have the compression and rebound set in the middle about ten clicks out as a stock base setting.....I am 195lb 5'11" and race motocross only as a Vet-A rider.......any info will b greatly appreciated guys,thxs

Hi James, thanks for reaching out to us. Couple things you can try... 1, try removing 2-4 clicks of compression damping from the fork - this should help the fork absorb those chatter bumps and give you a better lift off the jump face. 2, see where your sag is at, sometimes a shock that is too low in the stroke will make the bike jump awkwardly like you're describing. You can add pre-load to the spring to bring the rear und up, with a rider sag of 105-108. This will put more pressure on the fork and possibly balance out that jumping situation. On my 2017 Versys 650 showa SFF, after changing the leaking fork seal , maxima synthetic oil was used and after rebuild the left side preload spring started making a strange squeaking sound when the fork is compressed, though the spring cartridge was untouched and not opened. What could be the reason.

@@jdatwood7086 there was nothing wrong with the assembly procedure, every step was as per the workshop manual,the amount of oil, torque etc. If you want to know what the real issue was just let me know I will share it with you 😉.
