I just found after a month of searching a 2010 NC2 MX-5 GT PRHT in liquid silver metallic with just 1500 miles on the odometer. Not a typo-1500 miles on a 13 year old sports car! I am guessing that it was owned from new by a collector in California and in an indoor collection since it was rarely driven. I also paid a lot for that low mileage. Inside it still smells like a new car! This is my 4th NC and my second auto transmission. I just retired after 45 years driving trucks and I don't want to shift anymore. This NC2 shifts faster than a manual with the paddle shifters anyway.

I love mine, but I got an automatic. Did it because my last car was a standard and my wife wouldn't drive it, which sometimes was inconvenient. Plus as it's a two-seater, which is already selfish because it puts me out of the kid-picking-up-after practice game. So I had to compromise somewhere and got the automatic. Big mistake. Takes so much charm out of the car. But its still fun.

I have a 2008 PRHT with an automatic. When I'm in stop and go traffic I'm glad that I have an automatic.
@simonvalent Жыл бұрын
@@wg5768 for me the traffic is the only reason to get an automatic. The perfect combo would be a manual hybrid car that engages the electric motors only in 1st gear so quicker accelerations and no traffic problem

Great sense of humor! Miatas are a blast and too many people get too serious about what they lack. Just appreciate what the car is about and that is an inexpensive, fun two--seater sports car!

THEE BEST (and funnest by far) car review I’ve EVER seen. I already have my baggie of blow with too manny places in my current ride to decide where to put it. And I love to drive - radio off etc., and even though I’m almost 60, I’m definitely 16 of heart and mind. So yeah, I need this toy.

For some reason it went out but the slave cylinder was fine. Once i replaced it its been a great car. Still going to put the aluminum moroso overflow tank in at some point. I would recommend the car to anyone who doesnt need to carry much stuff around. I have 80,000 miles on it now

I understand your points, I have one just like yours but automatic. The reason? I would upgrade it like crazy if it would be manual. My last upgrade was a WRX from OEM to 398 WHP. I don’t regret it because by all cars gurús this car should be a collection car and if you modify it it will loose it’s value, plus hoping my granddaughter gets into med school… then it will be my present to her…

Spot on review. Especially that feeling like a 16 year old and the smile when you drive it. I purchased a 2012 Touring (6 speed stick, of course) w/ hard top a couple weeks ago. I was looking for an old MG when a friend suggested the Miata. Better drive, better feel with low maintenance. A win, win. The main purpose of the test drive was to see if this 69 year old body with a little extra weight could get in and out of it. YES, I can! Another incentive to continue working with a trainer at the gym. Trainer: "What is your goal?" Me: "To be able to get in and out of my Miata NC2 for as long as possible."

You sir hit the nail right on the head. My NB (2004) base Miata reduced my resting pulse and blood pressure the moment I would settle into the seat. So basic yet so wonderful. I need an NC now because it has more room. At 64, the NB started wreaking havoc on my back, but no car compares to a Miata - especially the ones without screens or steering wheel controls. Wanna sell yours?
@richardcordell68422 жыл бұрын
That about sums it up my man. Yes, cheaper than a therapist and you get immediate results for sure. All you have to do is get in and start driving one. Put KYB's all around which stiffened up the suspension, followed by 4 all new Continental Supreme Contact tires which makes the car handle great in the twisty roads around here. Actually, driving anywhere in my "06 MX-5 is relaxing and therapeutic. You're just thinking about the driving experience and what gear to shift up or down to next.

Wow your intro nailed it!! The car is basically a toy and so much fun on backroads. It checks alot of boxes for someone who really likes to drive. I've owned an NA, NB and now an NC 6 speed. For ripping around on tight technical backroads in San DIego, an NC is about as good as it gets for the money. Slap some 200 treadwear tires on it and its amazing. Now I want to find a clean NC club automatic for my wife..

Just bought one in yesterday with the automatic. After driving a manual only since 2005 I do miss the adult pedal and understand why I sell so many brake jobs in this town. I am glad that the noises getting in and out of it are normal and love how the seat wraps around my girth like a little hug. Looking forward to cruising around with the top down while sporting one of my custom Santa hats to keep the sun off my bald head, spreading smiles and laughter as I go. BTW it is red with the black top so very appropriate. Paint is faded on the club badges, any thoughts on restoring them?
