The 2018 RDX oil filter location is a nightmare........Tip- use a 1 gallon zip loc bag......those store bags are thin and get holes easily. At least you know the zip loc is not going to fail and for extra measure fold over a few paper towels in the bottom and roll the top of the bag down just a little to keep the top open. After loosening the filter, slide the bag up from underneath, then with your hand on the outside of the bag remove the filter. Then you can dump the bagged oil into your recycling container.

Helpful video. I think the next time I change oil in my ‘14 MDX,, I’m not going to bother jacking it up. Everything seems accessible from just reaching an arm underneath the vehicle.

The Bagne Channel - I agree no need to jack it up. It’s tight but doable without a jack. I have ramps because I have another car where I cannot access it without lifting.

I was considering a fumoto valve but i can’t justify the cost. It’s so easy to remove and install the plug. I always use a new crush washer and know how to torque it by hand. Striping for me is not a concern. It also takes a long time to drain. I do like that you can add a tube to go directly into your drain pan or bottle without having to worry about wind. I have had a pan stripped by a independent shop once which is when I decided to do these myself. At the time it was convenient as my car was due for state inspection and it was rainy weather for days so I let them do it. Never again. They tried denying it was them but they were the last to touch it and I know how to turn a wrench. Never went to them again and the shop has been sold to someone else.
