Testing out the launch control mode at a very windy disused airfield. Massive apologies for the first 30 seconds of wind noise... Note the nearside wheelspin from both tyres..

Excellent and informative commentary despite testing weather conditions, potholes and trucks... Look forward to seeing more from Dominic Spence in the future. Anything but boring Caroline Walsh.

I just watched your 5 month review, :) This launch video is cool too. Do you think you could get the same acceleration without the launch control?
@spence228 жыл бұрын
+vincentvega123 - Similar, but you wouldn't get the immediate 'punch' off the line.

How high did you get the rpm before you let go of the break?
@juelz45162 жыл бұрын
It should get to 4-4.5, if it stays at 1,000 you’re doing it wrong

Taking delivery of a TTS end of march/april. Would you say it is best to run the engine in for the first 1000 miles or is this not necessary?
@spence228 жыл бұрын
No not necessary. Just ensure that the engine oil is up to temp before taking it over 3k 👍

+spence22 Ok, I didn't think so but wanted to double check, thanks!

spence22 First of all thank you for the nice videos about the TTS! Thumbs up! But it's really not necessary to run in the engine? Did you not break in your TTS? Audi prescribes in the operating manual, the engine has to be run in 20 hours and no full throttle should be given. Could you explain why you didn't do that? Thanks and keep up the good work!
@spence228 жыл бұрын
SuperNinjaaa95 Hi & thanks! The general consensus of opinion regarding modern engines in cars is that due to the factory run in process and superior oils, provided the engine isn't laboured in a low gear or kept at a constant throttle during the initial ownership, it is no longer necessary (as opposed to the good old days) to run in. Motorcycles however are different as they use a specific running in oil which rapidly wears the internals, hence the rev ceilings and mileage limits for the first 1200m. Also it is critical to have the oil changed at 600m so that the engine doesn't continue to wear at an increased rate. Hope that helps!

Jealous that you guys get leather on the center of the steering wheel. It's plastic here in the US!

Bit biased I would say, friends or similar vehicle owners maybe ?? only giving my view on what I've watched and yes I found it a bit dragged out.
