And also the 1999 Audi TT in fact.
@xIcarus227 Жыл бұрын
It's not under-appreciated, it's simply a niche car because it's in a weird spot. Coupes like these are either super fun to drive like a Cayman, or comfy and luxurious like an SLS. The TTRS is in a very weird middle ground where it doesn't do anything particularly well. It's not particularly exciting to drive, it's not particularly comfy either and while the interior quality is absolutely good, it lacks some very obvious options like memory and cooled seats which would make it a capable GT. It launches really well and the engine sounds intoxicating, but that's just about it. You could live with the above if the asking price was decent, but when you see that every other competitor is cheaper 9/10 people will look someplace else just like I did. A damn shame since I really like the car.
@raidden-15839 ай бұрын
@@xIcarus227kinda disagree with your reasonning. Yes it's a niche spot that I agree, but it's not "in the middle that do nothing good". The tt is actualy a daily sportscar which does it's daily job perfectly well for two people max, and just adds a bit of sportivity. I owned an a4 and a currently own a tt. The tt isn't that much less comfortable than the a4. And if you compare it to another car its size, it's as if not more comfortable than most compacts on the market. This car is for people who are looking for a daily and who are willing to sacrifice their rear seats for that sportyness. This is the niche spot it is on. I tried a giulia recently which was the same price (used) as my TT, and it was a way worse daily driver. New, except if you're a fan of the 5cylinder and going for a ttrs, I agree tho that you'd better off with a cheap daily and another sportscar like an mx5. But used (i go my mk3 for 24k it had 57k km on it) it's currently one of the best choice of daily driver on the market rn for that budget.

I'm so used to all the ridiculously fast cars recently, that 7:14 just looked like I was watching in 0.5x speed. 😆 The Mk3 TT looks seriously amazing though. It's so badass for a TT.

The Mk2 isn’t actually the top rated of the generation, there was a Plus version with 360bhp, sports exhaust, and some carbon fiber bits. Would never expect the MK2 to be quicker than a DSG Mk3, but that was a beautiful launch!

@TheModManu Жыл бұрын
V6 just had a completely different power band, peak HP only occurs for a very short time. Hence the switch to Turbo Power.
@purwantiallan5089 Жыл бұрын
The V6 literally has 5 times the power.
@g-nice_pimp Жыл бұрын
Yeah but if the power comes on late in the powerband, it becomes a slippery traction fest quite easily. Look at all the big turbo cars that can't properly hook until they're in fourth gear opposed to a car with less power but better balanced tuning parameters (like a better sized turbo, or boost by gear instead of enganging the full boost from 3500/4500 RPM)

The 3.2l is actually a VR6 engine. The VW Golf 4 R32 and Golf 5 R32 also had the same engine. But in the R32, the engine had an even better sound. Unfortunately, the engines often scattered heavily downwards in terms of performance and many did not even reach the factory specification. Old-fashioned technology. In addition, they were heavy, were drinking much fuel and unfortunately often had problems with the timing chain. All this ensured that since the 6th Golf R generation only the 2l turbo has been used. I once had an R32 and the sound was simply divine, even if it is not so super fast by today's standards. Whereby 6,2s from 0-100 km / h is not so slow.
@sajidqureshi2175 Жыл бұрын
Agreed I have a mk4 r32 for the last 9 years absolutely love it.. sounds amazing and feels superior in all departments.. my mate had the mk6 R.. is was fast but soulless.. he had quite a lot of issues.. he sold and bought a mk5 r32 and hasn't regretted
@BlackyLee88 Жыл бұрын
@@sajidqureshi2175 Six-cylinder engines are still different from four-cylinder engines. And always calling up all the power is not possible in everyday life anyway, then it's better to enjoy the beautiful sound. In addition, the more modern four-cylinder engines are not really much more economical than the naturally aspirated engines. When I let it roll comfortably on the highway, there was also an 8l/100km (29mpg) Most of the time it was around 10-11l/100km (23mpg). And you still have a not slow, safe vehicle and a lovely sound

@MrMuz99 Жыл бұрын
The price isn't strictly much of an issue for Yianni, but that price for a special TT? I doubt he's alone in thinking it's too much, even If there's only 100 of them. Add the fact that the 'special edition' isn't that much different from the current TT, it just further confirms this.
