What was going through your mind? “I was gonna be number 1 by the end” Mind of a champion.

Grew up watching these guys in youth. The crazy thing is if you grew up watching these guys you knew brewer would dominate because hes about 2 years older. I used to watch them at the park hill youth tournament and there has always been about a 2 year gap between them even though they are both really fucking good.

Odd that Brewer was seeded so low, he shot in on Clark like Clark was an old grandma

Riley says Clark had it.... hahahahaha Stalling the last half minute to win a NCAA Title is something all of us would have done in his situation. He beat Clark up all 3 periods, not even a close bout. I think Brewer's best match of the tournament was his semi-final, but he was dominant the entire weekend. 2x NCAA Champion a year from now

One of those deals where nobody could have beat him that day

Funny how Cory Clark's key to victory was "make it a double" yet almost all his takedown attempts were singles that kept getting countered.

Most egregious seeding I have ever seen in the tourny giving this guy the 13.
@gorrilla889 жыл бұрын
so why was brewer a 13 seed again? Makes absolutely no sense.

***** he didnt have enough mat time this year. Seeding goes by past performance as well as season resume
@mikehoncho72225 жыл бұрын
He had a ton of trouble making weight after he got hurt. Flow did an interview with him.

I get the mat time thing but he wrestled 22 matches I could see if it were like 10 or so. He should've been a top 10 seed at the least.
@karterstinton91014 жыл бұрын
Not just that the favored the big 10 over any other conference in 2015 all wieght classes aj schopp was a 9 seed and he was an ewl champ brandon dicamillo acc champ only a 12 seed and a big 12 champ should at least be in the top 5

He missed matches because of injury followed by not making weight.

Congratulations to Cody, awesome wrestling. Cutting a lot of weight pays off, his length is such an advantage

How can a wrestler be at the top of his game when he's not healthy. I've been saying this for years. One big reason I'm a huge Kyle Dake fan is because cutting ridiculous amounts of weight for long periods of time does not make a healthy wrestler. That's why Dake went up in weight was too stay healthy. I remember being below 4% body fat. I slept on the floor grate to stay warm in the winter just too wrestle 130. I had no problem wrestling 145 , which was natural weight for me. Weight loss in wrestling is horse shit my friend. The funny thing is, in another interview, Brewer talks about how unhealthy he was during that time

I still get sick everytime I eat from where I'd start lowering my weight in August, then cutting from October until March. I usually ate 3-4 decent meals a week because the culture around wrestling is bullshit. I used to think I was a real bad ass because I was disciplined and more committed than everybody around me. It was all pride and foolishness.

This will be the last thing I ask. How can a kid or young man be healthy , when he is starving his body of vital nutrients during his body's most transformative years? For me personally, I wish they would lay down a 5 pound limit across the board for high school and middle school wrestling. From my own experience, no kid in 7th grade should be taught to live on egg whites and fruit salads, learn how to wear trash bags, spit in a bottle, wear 5 sweat shirts and 3 pairs of sweat pants. Honestly, the culture of wrestling really sucks. I still love the sport and always will. I just wish health would be placed much higher than filling missing weight spots
