I have a 7'0 ugly stick that I found leaning up against a tree 4 years ago and it literally has turned out to be one of my fav rods! Its med/heavy, with a nice soft tip. I use it for damn near everything , but it is great for walk a fluke or dancing a frog as well as just bouncing a craw off the bottom. These retail at Walmart for $49.99 lol. any fly fishing? if not you gotta check out some fly gear. tons of great fishing done on the fly, plus if you really enjoy short casting or quick casting you would love the fly, theres also nothing quite like watching the fish follow and strike your dry fly right on the surface, amazing strikes and great great fight on the fly

Jon Im a huge fan of shimano and the new Citica 200 I reels are insanely better than previous generations in my opinion. That is all I use anymore and only have a few new Curados that are 5.5:1 for cranking. Just an idea for you for future reels. Keep Fishing. Never stop.

For the reel I have it narrowed down between the Lews tournament MG or the concept A. I know you have a lews and the concept reel, so for an all purpose setup which do you recommend. +cody moore St Croix motto "best rods on Earth" is no joke. The new Mojo Bass just may be the best rod for $120-$130 and the new Avid X (and the Gen 1 Avids as well) are amazing. There are a bunch of fantastic rods in the $200 area and the St Croix Avids are at the top of the list I think the new gen 2 Mojo Bass is a better rod than the 13 fishing omen black gen 2 that everyone raves about and is only about 10-20 bucks more. I own both. The omen is great, but the mojo is better and the Avid is even better. Also look at the Powell Max 3D. Awesome rods for $160
