I have a 2016 Aurion Sportivo............and it is DAMN quick. Easily the best car I've ever had and on a trip to Perth attained 7.7 ltrs per 100 kms. That's pretty impressive for a 3.5ltr.

Aurions are very powerful, that 6.6 second 0 - 100 is due to bad tyres at the front (you can hear big loss of traction on the launch), with better tyres and a better launch you will get that number down to around 6.2 seconds 0 - 100, I know because I have an aurion.

This car is quick due to the low weight of 1525kg a FG XR6 weighs 1728kg. Both are quick cars with the Aurion having 336nm vs XR6 having 395nm. Aurion is 200kw vs 195kw for the XR6.

Agreed. Say what you like but Aurion in my opinion is quite unique. I've easily flogged a 235kw BA XR8 in my stock Touring. Have to admit though a worked fg XR6T is a different story. But trust me the Aurion has potential. Let's not forget there is the SX6 and ZR6 models with sports tuned steering, brakes and suspension.

Adzy 43q it might beat older Commo SS's ones with 5.7L LS1 and an automatic tranny. But I doubt it would smoke a VE SS with either 6.0L or the 6.2L V8s It's quick but it's not that quick. With good tyres it will do 0-100 in about 6.2 seconds

It has a very low first gear. That's where most of that 6 second 0-100 time comes from. My Au falcon is about the same weight, and has more torque, but it's first gear is much higher, so the 0-100 time is slower. By just changing the diff gearing, you can achieve these sort of times from an old falcon. It's more about the Toyota's 6 speed gearbox than it's engine. If you mated the 3.5 litre v6 from the Aurion to the falcon 4 speed gear box, the car would barely get off the line with such tall gearing. It would be lucky to do a 10 second 0-100. What we are seeing here is the Aurion getting more torque to the wheels via shorter gearing and a high reving engine. The engine only produces 336 nm, it's the gearing that makes that effective at the wheels compared to a car of similar weight with more torque, but higher gearing.

Just think back folks.... It wasn't that long ago that the famous Impreza WRX punched around 160kw and everyone blew their load over these cars. The STi was around 206Kw.. Remember how fast the stock WRX was ? I do. I owned one.. The Aurion having 200Kw is certainly a leap forward and such a car can put a WRX to shame everyday. And this is a sleeper family car.

I bought this car expecting the usual white goods Camry sloppiness but to my surprise I could sense some Lexus ES 350 DNA from it. Extremely smooth and refined and in straight line acceleration it puts the power down quite well. Just don't expect it to corner like Falcodore. People don't understand that Falcon is basically bogan BMW when it comes to handling. Highly recommended.

The Aurion's have always been somewhat of a hidden FWD gem, great cars. performance wise, the Aurion is very similar to the XT 0-100 and quarter mile times but in real life when you've got friends in the car or family (or a trailer) and need to overtake, the 80+NM torque advantage is quite obvious.

Goldie 120kg is nothing.. Not to 420NM the extra torque offsets that hugely and the 8Kw on top of the Aurion. Every light race I've been involved in against an aurion I immediately pull ahead at least so his bonnet is at my rear bumper and stays at that (blame FWD traction loss from that sweet 3.5L) It is however absolutely true the Falcon would win a tow race, 1.2T (to Max the Aurion tow capacity) on the falcon and Aurion and the Falcon would obliterate the Aurion from a stand and a roll. No argument.

Car Nut​ XT/XR6/G6E they will all do the same quarter mile time and speed. They also get around 99 and I've seen one 13.8 pass on a cool day but generally they'll be 14.3 and up almost every run. I've been looking at the Aurion Presara/Prodigy (whichever has nav) for my next car but it's competing in a long list it has almost everything I want.

For two weeks, I drove a new Kia Cerato with a 2 litre 4 cylinder engine. The car was so junky, like the Aurion, it had a nice 6 speed gearbox that disguised the low torque output of the engne. Come highway speeds though, the car had nothing. Even the slightest hill and the thing was changing down and revving like a tin can. For a new car I was thoroughly disappointed. Everything looked like it was made out of the cheapest materials and thrown together. The boot didn't even close properly. Sure it was not a new, new car, but for such a small amount of kms it just didn't feel solid. All I hear is positive stuff about Korean made cars from car magazines etc, but every time I have actually driven one, I have been thoroughly disappointed at the sheer lack of build quality. The Aurion has much better build quality. I've looked over one thoroughly, and even the welds are pretty good. They don't seem to handle high kms though.

+Bruce Gaskin The VF commodore is the best series to be sold, I'll be sad to see it go. Price/performance/trim levels compared with European manufacturers, they are fantastic value. In saying that, it's a tall claim that Holden use a better engine.. The best N/A version of Toyota's 3.5L V6 makes 235KW and 377NM of torque and that stomps on the 3.6L used by Holden - the specific power of the engine is almost the highest in the world and there are no stretched timing chain issues like with the 3.6L Commodore. If you consider V8's, don't even bother.. Price/performance Holden and Ford pretty much own the territory.

+16 you must own the magna. Performance in cars is a big aspect of what makes them cars. They're both large family sedans, both has V6s and Both are front wheel drives.
