I think the biggest difference is that in the olden times, guys would get a nasty flip reset shot or whatever, and it would be the shot of all time basically. For them and the scene as a whole. Now, it's every single game that something much crazier happens; and this comes on top of the fact that guys are now defending all the craziness that players are going for, whereas before, it usually just came out of nowhere and people wouldn't know how to react to it or defend it. So it's not just that the shots are crazier, the conditions under which the shots are pulled off are much crazier. The shot compilation from any random RLCS event basically trumps the best shot collection from like 2015 to 2018 or so, and all of them are pulled off against much stiffer competition. Which adds another layer to the comparison. Any modern top RLCS pro would've been completely unstoppable probably up to like 2019, and still the best player in the game for at least a couple of years after that.

I feel for the pre jump redirect shot that it might not be meta because the amount of thought that goes behind it is crazy. It is also very risky cause your going the other side of the field and you need to expect a perfect pass to the top of your car.

I agree that the game looked better back in the day, it seemed more vibrant and bright. Today it feels like the opposite, seems dark and not anywhere near as bright. Graphically it’s improved but I would prefer 2015-2017 graphics than current

Yes, flip reset became posible feb.10 2016 and the first flip reset was hit in traing 3 march 2016 by Fychokid

Back in the day 2016, I didn't even know Rocket League existed. After downloading RL in late 2021, I discovered both the squishy save and the musty flick after a few days. I think the game mechs are starting to get more complicated year after year. (I'm currently a Gold 1) Pre-Jumps might be used on the top levels because you can do a lot of things with Pre-Jumps

This should be the meta bc people will ignore the fact that they have pre-jumped, and it will be too late when they realize that they have a threat on their hands. Also, your tutorial on speed-flips have helped me a lot.
