2016 01 Potomac River to Portsmouth, VA

I was stationed at the Norfolk VA base for half of my sea service time in the Navy (3.5 years/2) then I was transferred to the CINCLANTFLT Telcom Station at the CINCLANTFLT compound just up the road. Have very fond memories of Norfolk. While I was stations on shore there, I became a volunteer EMT, helped a whole lot of people. I enjoyed this vicarious trip through memory lane... thank you~!~~!

I fished in the Chesapeake Bay years back out of Rock Hall MD. with Captain Roger, was a pretty exciting time as it was windy and the water rough as we took waves over the deck of Roger's 35 foot party boat. Must be very exciting to be around all those naval ships. I always loved seeing the big ships at anchor. Thanks for your video, it was truly appreciated. I realize it takes a long time to render and up load videos especially when wireless internet is slow but I think the video was great. I also marveled at the electronics on your bridge and you realize just how big your boat is when you have a engine room you can walk around in LOL. Very clean too, I'm truly impressed.

We kept a log which we updated every hour. Entries included current location. We did not plot our course on paper charts but did have them available. We had several GPS's for backup, including handheld.

Your videos are really good but the video quality its self its hard on the eyes. You guys should look at getting a better camera. I just bought a canon G7 X point and shoot the quality is great or even a Go Pro. With the go pro you could get some really cool time lapses

+rccrazy30 It's probably not the camera. I'm not a great photographer, it's hard to shoot when underway, and then I have to conserve bandwidth on uploads, so do not do high quality.

What your shooting looks good! Gotcha maybe upload when your in port find some public WIFI. keep up the good work!
