is time discrete, or continuous? IF discrete, each moment is self-identical, bound by only itself. IF continuous, then each moment is bounded by the prior and posterior, and time as time exists only as the the whole of time. Think of a stack of lidless boxes. when you stack them, each box is completed by the bottom of the box above.

Nice analogy, I think the latter is more likely for there must be a relation of past to present, and present to future. There is also an intelligibility that time participates in so that each moment although connected to the past, also has an intelligibility so that each may maintain a particular λογος logos or order. (3rd Hypothesis of the Parmenides)
