This is the problem. Saved me from replacing the screen. I don’t even use the navigation system anyways. All I wanted was a functional stereo system without interruption. If you use the navigation system. Get a card. But if you don’t. This is the perfect fix. Thank you so much with this information.

I had the same problem at any temperature. I bought an updated SD card on Amazon for $29.95 and problem solved. Glad I saw this video.

Wow, this saved my Mazda from having that absolutely horrid OS restart issue. You are supremely amazing. My OS was restarting about every 30-45 seconds, so there was barely any opportunity to adjust even the time on the car.

Oh my gosh - thanks so much for posting this video!! I've suffered this exact issue for 3 years & it's instantly fixed!! I don't even use my navigation so i just popped the old card out - brilliant!! Now i can listen to audiobooks uninterrupted! Thank you

This has been bothering me for years! Googled it yesterday to see if it’s a common problem, and yes it is! I tried it and it worked! Almost surreal to be able to listen to music via Bluetooth in the car when it’s -12 outside! 😂 thank you from Sweden!

brilliant, thank you. I am having this issue with my 2017 Mazda 3 GT Hatch. It is strange that instead of saying something like "Nav card error" it goes into a reboot which is a bad user experience but I guess that is how it is designed.

I know this video old but this is my issue my radio would keep on rebooting by its self and I can’t play music because of it . I have a Mazda, CX five 2014 and whenever I press on the navigation button, nothing happens. After watching this video, I think what happened is that the person I bought it from took out the card and so now I can’t use the navigation. Thanks for your help.

You do not need the card then. Just use the maps on your phone.

I would stick with the Mazda procedure. I believe the actual manufacturing of the card is faulty.

@@Mrbirdnerd I clone my SD card to a 32gb card and use Mazda toolbox to make a copy of my original card. It works. Copy the files directly to the 32gb partition does not work. The nav can't read it. Clone will partition the card to 8gb and the rest is unpartition.

I have carplay on my wife 2016 Mazda 3 I don't need navigation so gonna remove and try to see if it keeps restarting. We would be driving middle of the highway the whole head unit would restart

This is not true for all 2016’s (grand touring cx5). I bought the cheaper nav card and it permanently screwed up my Bluetooth so that now I cannot link my phone. Sent the card back and got a refund. Now my problems are worse and I’ll wholeheartedly replace the system with an Apple Car Play system. Much better option for $500. The good news is that my Bose speakers are still awesome so an upgraded stereo seems like the best way to go.
