Wow this is a big job. My AC just went out. Same year Tacoma. I purchased an extended warranty on my truck and I hope it covers the cost. Still don’t know if it’s the compressor or the coil. We shall find out soon. Ty for posting this video. It shows how much work goes in to fixing it. No wonder the labor charge is expensive.

Just took my 2020 Sport in and they told me it's the evaporator. So I'll have to bring it back for the actual repair. I just hope they don't forget to put back anything.

Thanks for the video. Did you use the OEM evaporator core for replacement? Or the aftermarket? And what brand of evaporator core?

They should design these vehicles to be able to take out the glove compartment and blower motor and then slide out the evaporator after disconnecting it. Now it is a $2000 job.

What do you recommend, replace it with an original one or another brand?
@KirksCoolAirAutoTV6 ай бұрын
It’s best to replace with the original but if you can’t get the original one you can use the aftermarket. Make sure the evaporator core is the new

Nice job... There Is a tsb from Toyota for this, mine is a 2023 with 7k miles and my evaporator is making the dreaded whistle sound that they mention in the Toyota tsb... 😡... Toyota TSB T-SB-0004-22
@marklorenz1853 Жыл бұрын
I have the whistling noise in my 2021 Tacoma, 30K miles. All symptoms match TSB T-SB-0004-22. But my truck still blows cold air, how can that be? Is it just a matter of time before cold air stops?
@foamer4433 ай бұрын
I have a 2017 w 73000km that just started doing this. Well more like sounds like slush inside and sometimes leaking into the passenger footwell and still blowing cold air. What did you find out about your truck?
