The car will run rich, causing the spark plugs to foul and consume more fuel. Those are the quick issues if a tune is not performed. Long term, carbon build up on the valves and pistons causing pre-detonation, which is not good for a boosted vehicle.

Can you confirm what size bolts are on the heat shield? M6 2x 16mm and 1x 25mm stainless steel?

Those factory bolts are on there so tight, my impact drill won’t even budge them

Depending on the mileage of the car the factory bolts could be a little tight. Our car did not have too many miles when we did the install.

Yes, tuning the PCM would be what is needed to eliminate the check engine light and ensure that the air/fuel ratio's are dialed in.
