So I got one of these and am overall happy with it. However, the holder should be about 1 inch higher up (at least for me). I don't hit it on shifts or brake pulls anymore. It would be nice if they considered some sort of spacer and included it, couldn't cost much. I ended up drilling a wooden dowel and buying a longer bolt to raise it that inch. Now it's perfect.

Pop-socket vent clip puts the phone exactly where that other doohickey is located and it’s just one little piece. Easy, simple, cheap, and it works.

Vent clip phone holders will block the vent, overheat the phone when the heater is on and has the tendency to move around more and is not stable

Just a thought if you got rid of the clamp holder and made the head magnetic and supply a couple of metal plates with double sided tape for the phone and that should then give you slightly better clearance for the handbrake

With the new iPhone 12, would you consider creating on your 3D printer a plastic panel housing a Qi charger so that the iPhone 12 can be held in place with its MagSafe tech? This way it could be held in place magnetically while being charged.

The phone cradle that holds the phone is sadly not tough enough for the job. I have one just like it, i hope you can engineer a better quality version in the future. (The teeth in the gear mechanism that grips the phone strip ). Appreciate the video and I'll check back in the future.

Why should I get the charging version vs the regular when the USB charging ports are right there? Will the charging pad version connect to my apple car play? Are there no slots in the base for the USB cable to charge the phone while in the stand for the basic model?

For convenience so that you don’t need to plug in your phone. Charging pad will not connect to your apple carplay. There is a slot in the base for the usb cable

I've had the holder for a month and so far I'm not very happy with it. Despite what is shown here, it is VERY rare for it (or power cable) not to be in the way when shifting to 5th when the holder is properly secured. Even worse when operating the hand brake. Also, The tightening knobs loosen easily so it's swinging around. I'll continue using it for now but so far, disappointing.

First of all, absolutely LOVE the design. I'm not a big fan of a vent mount or the cupholder mount as you lose 50% of the cupholders :) Looking forward to the launch. Could you recreate the image at 06:12 in a ND Miata with no mods and add it to the description as a link please (no short shifting gear lever, also unsure if your handbrake is stock or modded)? Currently, it looks like only the air flow direction is slightly shadowed by the phone mount. Quite honestly, I don't care about that but just want to make sure the gear lever and/or handbrake don't affect visibility. What's your experience with a larger phone (I'm assuming yours is a iphone X but a larger phone may make it cramped)? Do you tilt it to make it horizontal? If you're charging the phone while the phone is mounted, does the wire get in the way of the shifter if you keep it vertical and/or does it get in the way of the passenger if you tilt it horizontal (with the charging cable facing outwards). Even though I plan to add Apple Car Play to my car I still need a place to hold my phone. I like the idea of being able to use the cup holder but after looking at this video several times I’m beginning to wonder if the phone holder will interfere with taller cups. When my wife and I go on club drives we usually take a Hydro Flask tumbler which is a tall cup especially if it’s the bigger one. Does the mount hang over the cup holder interfering with larger cups? Also, I have a Scoshe cup holder mount that I don’t use because it takes my cup holder and interferes with the hand brake.
