DONE! Thanks so much for the video of changing coolant on the 2GR-FKS. Dreading the trip under the car to drain the block, I was pleasantly surprised to see no cover in place on my model 2018 FWD RX350. No long extension needed as I was looking straight up at the nipple and valve. EZ-PEEZY. After about ten minutes of hose squeezing until I couldn't see air bubbing, I started the vehicle and revved it to 3k a few times and it was apparent when the T-stat opened as the level in the funnel dropped quickly. Adding that back and checking for hot air from the heater, it was all over in minutes. Of course, the fact that it was 100 DEGREES in my garage meant the system was open quickly. Thanks, again.

My 2017 RX 350 has a 2GR-FKS engine. It does not seem to have a cylinder-block drain. However, I was able to drain 1 gallon and 76 ounces from the radiator. I will replace the coolant more frequently than recommended, which should compensate for reduced drainage.🧑‍🔧

You can use either a clip remover or a flat blade screwdriver. When they are new, they come out very easily. Once they get old, they get stuck and brittle, so it is normal for a lot of them to break. Aftermarket clips are cheap: amzn.to/3vWnDC4

Transmission fluid replacement video is coming soon! As far as the push clips, I would just replace them with aftermarket ones from Amazon, the factory ones cost several dollars each.

Hi, usually it just means it either needs a new key fob battery or the key fob itself is dead. I have never seen one just deprogram itself.

@Viktor_G_Automotive Victor, I have replaced the battery on the key fob. But the car doesn't recognize it unless touched to the start button. It's every time. I will try a different battery set and see if that cures the issue. Thanks alot.

@@sky13eyaj12 yes, try a different battery first, making sure it is installed the correct side up. You can try the one out of the key fob that works.

Just to confirm, by heater, you meant like the AC inside the car? And it needs to be hot air even when idle? I’ll need to adjust temperatures to something high right?

Yes, you don’t have to run the heater blower to bleed the system, it is just a good indicator of the air having been bled out when the air blows hot at idle. Of course, the interior temperature selector has to be set to max.

It is most beneficial to drain and replace as much coolant as possible, so doing both the radiator and the block would be preferred.

I can’t thank you enough for this instruction! Finally got to work on my wife's RX. It took me quite a while to find the peckcock on the engine block though. I need to do this again on my IS that has the same engine. Since engine in the IS is turned 90 degrees counter clockwise compared to RX, when finding the petcock on the engine block, should I be looking at the right side(looking upward under the car)? Or is it located toward the rear of the car like RX?

Look on both left and right side of the engine, it may have 1 or 2 block drains depending on the year.

@@8742js not absolutely necessary, if you only drain one side, a little bit of old coolant will remain in the block, not a big deal.

@@Viktor_G_Automotive I finally got to do it last week and the engine block drain was on the passenger side. Just to help out any IS owners, go to the passenger side of the engine oil pan and look up. Luckily my forearm is not so muscular to slide through the gap and reach the drain. Thank you Victor!
