Work with what I had at the time. Keep in mind as well this was a new atv at the time and was the first oil change for myself and many others who had no idea where to Start. It actually has a drain plug on the left side as well.. ATV still starts up on first try even after 5 years, original battery. Our son puts a little over 400hrs a year on this thing, only thing I have done is put a new cvt belt, rear clutch and hub assembly in 2019. We found out the cvt doesn't like water, there is an air vent at the bottom of the cover that acts a duct for air and water to be rammed in even at low speed. Water as deep as 7ins is a no got at fast speeds. If crawling everything does good.

My son has a 2014 dvx 90 and I don't put anything but Amzoil in it and it starts in two kicks or one touch of the starter the battery is still the original battery I got with it. I have removed the limiter for my son and it runs awesome!

Does this have a oil filter
@sebastianherrera3914 жыл бұрын
2:48 where was that located??
@TheComputerArmory4 жыл бұрын
The filter i assume is what your asking about. Right beheind the right foot peg. There is a small 1 to 2in diameter aluminum cap with a nut. It is spring loaded to hold the filter in.

I have a totally unrelated question. I have a 2018 90cc Alterra and the running lights do not work but the brake light does work. Checked all the wires and looks broken or cut. Check the fuse and it's good too. Any suggestions?

Sorry for the delay in responce, im not getting notifications. I am not sure, unless its the main light switch that has gone faulty. I have ours converted to all LED with zero issues.

How do you change the oil screen
@TheComputerArmory4 жыл бұрын
The oil screen is removeable by removing the cap nut on the bottom right side. It is held in place with a spring, you might here the spring click as you unscrew the cap. When reinstalling it takes a little bit of force to get started, but only upward force not screwing motion, if screwing motion force is noticed as in cross threaded feeling then stop and retry.

I have Kawasaki kfx 90 and it has the same exact motor but I was wondering if it the transmission oil is separate?
@BOTAJELL5 жыл бұрын
Yes it’s separate
@TheComputerArmory4 жыл бұрын
Yes, even this one is seperate. I have it filled with 75w140. Looking at the right side of the engine from the side view, look to the left and back about 8 inchs and you will see a nut. That nut is the fill hole for the trans, ours hold only 8oz but i have probably 16oz or so in it.
@christianvetter22834 жыл бұрын
Yes the transmission oil is separate (80W-90 Hypoid) and requires a different drain/fill procedure.
@salinasracing83146 жыл бұрын
Is this motor oil? Or transmission
@MichaelSmith-pm7ci6 жыл бұрын
Salinas Racing831 This is the motor oil. Transmission oil is hypoid gear oil.

This is motor oil. I have since switched to amsoil. Its easier for me to buy.

@@TheComputerArmory you are right needs to be jso or something made for bikes . regular oil will eat clutches up

Greg G I run AMSOIL 4 stroke Power Sports 0W-40 , it’s made just for ATV’s good stuff on many different types of quads from my kids quads like this arctic cat and Polaris 90 predator to my family’s Grizzlys , Brute Force , and my Can am 1000 xt.
@diversedad79545 жыл бұрын
@@gregg2742 correct me if I'm wrong but atvs that have a cvt transmission use regular motor oil because they don't use a wet clutch system like motorcycles and non cvt quads. I jist bought one of these for my son but I have a Polaris 500 with cvt and it uses motor oil NOT motorcycle 4t oil for wet clutch system.
@TheComputerArmory4 жыл бұрын
@@gregg2742 i said clutches in the video. This engine actually does not have wet clutches as its a cvt transmission.
