I really like the outside and inside appearance of this car better then the Bolt. I wish they would have made this car with the 200 mile fully electric range instead of the Bolt. Just not fan of the Chevy Bolts body style.

I agree, seems that every time they come up with an electric vehicle(Tesla exception) they want to make them look like a bug or something. Why not make them sporty or elegant so you sell them.

The Prius is 10 seconds to 60 mph, and the Volt can do it in 7.7. That is a huge difference. The car actually has to accelerate well to handle well, so I don't think the Prius gets to say it handles. It's obvious how this car is driven in this video that it handles well and is fun to drive. I have 121 mpg lifetime average on my 2014 Volt. It has 58,000 miles on it. Completely flawless vehicle. It's been to the dealer for two oil changes since I purchased it 2.5 years ago. There is really no service for this car if you drive mostly electric. My gas motor probably has 5,000 miles on it. My battery range is 42-44 miles per charge. I would expect 60 miles per charge in a 2016 Volt. Oh, and I don't drive like a Prius driver. I constantly blow every car off the line at every light. They say road and track clocked the 2016 Volt at 2.3 sec to 30 mph. That is faster than a 2013 Tesla p85. Totally fast car off the line with all the torque at 0 rpm. Like a fighter jet on a catapult.

The reason why the mk4 Prius feels more buttoned down is due to its rear suspension setup. Prior mk1 Volt & mk3 Prius both used a Torsion beam semi-independent rear suspension. The mk2 Volt carries over as it is based on the GM Delta 2 platform which underpins the Cruze which probably GM picked to use a Torsion beam as a cost saving measure. Toyota opted the mk4 Prius to use the TNGA platform which underpins larger products in the future, using a more expensive & better handling independent multi-link setup at the rear. I haven't driven either the Prius or Volt, but I think this is the main contributing factor.

GM made the electric busses for Detroit in the 50s so they know how to do it. I know one of these would be perfect for me. Round trip to work is 38 miles and we have 4 charging stations.

Thanks for this video review. I just ordered one from the factory 2 days ago (May 1st/2017). It will be here in 6 to 8 weeks. I'm hoping to pull some serious MPGs out of it. I chose the Volt over the Prime because it gets twice the miles out of a charge. Anyway... Thumbs up! = )

43 miles on a charge seems low. I get that in my 2014 volt. The way you drive definitely affected your range and you mentioned it was cold. You must have been using the heater.

+ClubbySuperCharged It's a wheelchair accessible van. I believe they jack up the rear suspension so they can fit the machinery for the wheelchair lift inside and underneath the van.
