Love everything you did with the truck, I have a 2016 magnetic F150, and have done many upgrades as well. If I could give any recommendation, I would say get the Anzo black housing taillights GEN 1, NOT GEN 2. I bought both and thought the Gen 2's don't look nearly as good. The Gen 1's do not stick out as far as people say they do, it's honestly totally unnoticeable once you put them on the truck. They look absolutely amazing, particularly with this paint color and with an aggressive setup like this. I waited a long time before getting them and wish I got them sooner.

T Stanley, those look awesome unfortunately, they aren’t compatible with trucks with the BLIS (blind spot detector). I didn’t find anything I could use with the BLIS-not even smoke tint.

Marcus Kennedy, thanks! I remember having a hard time finding a tutorial myself. But I wish I hadn’t done it. For one, it was one of the most miserable experiences in recent memory. It was the closest I have come to crying in a long time. I just kept telling myself it was going to be worth it in the end. Except it wasn’t. Because baking the headlights ruined them, and the bulb went out after six months. My buddy and I have the same trucks, and we both did ours at the same time. He had LEDs that you could pull out of the headlight before you bake them. Mine were built in and part of the entire headlight assembly (as in, in a box welded to the headlight). So maybe you’d be ok if you have the headlights you can remove the bulbs in. And if you don’t seal them back up with butyl just right, your headlights will fog up whenever it rains or you go through a car wash. I ended up getting rid of my painted ones and ordering some Morimotos from the Retrofit Source. And they are so much better looking. They have the switchback blinkers and the white halo. They are a bit pricy, but worth saving up for in my opinion.

Marcus, hey, go for it. Maybe you will have better luck than I did. My headlights were stock LEDs, yes. As for your tutorial, I looked through the forum you linked but didn’t see a tutorial (I also gave up after browsing through a couple dozen, so I’m sure it’s in there somewhere). I am not sure I would remember what temperature I used anyway. It was two years ago. I do remember it taking me something like 14 hours, though. And it being miserable.

My buddy who did his truck had a 2015 Platinum. He also had stock LED’s. They looked exactly like mine on the outside, but once we pulled them out, his had removable bulbs. Mine didn’t. Not sure why the difference.

White fog lights look cool but if you live anywhere with bad weather i highly recomend leaving them yellow. Get leds for better performance but leave them yellow. White reflects in fog, rain and snow, makes it way harder to see.

Don’t forget, to enable Apple CarPlay, you also need Sync3 V2.3 or higher. Just installing the USB hub alone may not be all you need. Nice Rig. I like the emblem and sticker black out!

You're absolutely right. There is just a small percentage of the trucks that fall into the category where they are new enough to have Sync 3 (those manufactured later in 2016) but not new enough to already have the new USB (those manufactured starting in 2017. Thanks for the astute comment.

Tristan, after the plastidip was dry to the touch, but not yet cured, I took a wooden toothpick and peeled it where it covered the lettering. It was surprisingly easy.

cole hardy, I got the lift, the window tinting, the wheels, and the tires all done at the same place at the same time. I think the total was $8k, but I’m not sure how that broke down or how much of that was specifically for the lift. That also included the timer and retuning.

Jesus Nicasio, thanks man. The left tire rubbed just a little when the tires were turned left. I had to trim just a bit of plastic in the rear wheel well. Now they do pretty good. They do still run a little when the tires are turned and I either hit a speed bump or hit the brakes.

I was asking because i have a 2010 f150 and i have it leveled with 35s and it bearly rubs so i thought that a 6 inch lift would clear 37s for sure on the newer f150s so do you think an 8 inch lift would be better for a 2016 f150 to clear the 37s or do you think if you do more trimming itll stop the rubbing with the 6 inch lift?

The DealSeeker, that’s something that came stock with the truck. I don’t think you can just order new ones. I have since cut mine off. I think it looks better without them with the lightbar in there.

Paint Grenad, that is a camera. It is part of the 360° reverse cam system. You can also view its video stand alone if you are pulling in to a tight space and want to get close without hitting anything.

Clark, it was a HUGE pain. I almost cried during the process. You have to bake the headlights to soften the butyl sealant, and then you ruin your fingers prying the headlights apart (which takes several bakes and a couple hours per headlight). Some of the headlights you can remove the bulbs for (mine you cannot as the entire LED box was welded into the headlight). One of my headlights died about 9 months after I painted them, and I assume it was from baking them. I ended up having to buy new headlights. I got the Morimoto ones (you can see them in my other video) and am very happy with them. All in all, I highly recommend not painting them. (My friend did his at the same time-his bulbs didn't die, but he didn't seal his up right afterwards, so he gets water vapor in his when he goes through a car wash.)

Sweeeeeet truck! Some food for thought here. You should definitely check out the special edition emblems. They are blacked out with red undertones. I had plasti dipped emblems, but for some reason thought they looked cheap. The OEM blacked out emblems look 10x better. Just My opinion from experience though.

Without retuning, the spedo was about 15% off. But with a tuner I was able to calibrate it and give it more power. With the 37s and the truck programmed to sport, I get about 15 mph around town. I was getting about 18 before.

You tuned it for more power sure, but it should still feel slower then before. Also if you don't regear you will have to worry more about your powertrain becauseof the stress.

milo, I’m not sure what you mean by tail light LED strip, but is didn’t add anything to the tail lights. Mine has the side-radar detection, which means you can’t mess with the tail lights.

Zachariah Parry absolutely. Would love to see an updated video. I’m sure recording and editing can be time consuming. I saw the morimotos on stage3 and the install seemed easy enough. Are the Morimotos brighter/ better than the PUTCO? I may save myself the trouble down the road and get these now. Also, I’m curious how the plastidip did in terms of durability. Santos Umana, I didn’t notice any difference in brightness between the two. But the Morimotos look way better in the daytime. The plastidip holds up really well. There are some spots in the sharp corners of the emblem that could use a recoat, but I’ve also been through the car wash many times.

I did not take them off. Not necessary. Just mask a rectangle around the emblem with a couple inches clearance on every side. The plastidip peels right off the auto paint. Peel it after about ten minutes after the last coat. It will be stretchy and dry but not cured.

I bought the truck in December 2017. Made several more upgrades since this video. I'll have to do another video. Other than the lift and spray liner, I did everything myself, so there was no labor cost, but all told, I have probably put $11,500 into it, $8,500 or so of which was the lift (with new tires and rims) and the bed liner ($1,500 was for some Morimoto headlights not in this video).

RJ Cardenas, the lift, wheels, and tires were about $8,000. $500 for the spray-in bed liner. $800 for the tonneau cover. I think everything else combined was $500 or $600.

Good point. Though the light bar does not take up much space in the front, so there is plenty of room for the air to go through. And I have since removed the two vertical pieces of plastic, which allows for more airflow. Also, a dealer cannot void the warranty without being able to show that the damage they're being asked to fix was caused by the mod.
