2016 Ford Fiesta 1.6 DOHC crankshaft timing gear issues

Here today, 2016 Fiesta. Same problem. Glad I heard it/caught it in time. Wife's car. She said what noise... Belt is 1/2 way walked off the gears

Here again today. Bought a 2015 Fiesta for my kid. Same issue. I'm surprised this isn't a recall given the possible results of failure

I am replacing the timing belt. Car has 75k. Bearing is bad. Should I also replace the sprocket? 2016. Thanks!

Well I would definitely give it a good inspection to make sure none of the spot welds are separating. If the dealer has one in stock I guess I’d just replace it not expensive.

My Fiesta made it to 149k miles no problems. Just gave me code P0369 for intermittent cam b signal. The sensor and wiring are fine. Time to pull the timing cover.

So that lower gear on the crank is supposed to float

Yes supposed to float only held in place by crank bolt torque. No key

Hi Mike, one of my cousin has a 2012 ford fiesta and he told me about this keyless gear and I couldn't believe it. How can the crank bolt hold it since the lower cover is between the pulley and the gear. Thank you for sharing

@@rajeshtintu4966The crank pulley has a shoulder that goes through the plastic timing cover and directly contacts the lower timing gear…So the lower timing gear is squeezed between the crankshaft pulley and the crankshaft itself…In other words the crankshaft bolt isn’t contacting the lower gear the harmonic balancer/crankshaft pulley is…hope that answers your question:) ✌🏻
