They are definitely blue water capable, in fact, the first Gemini ever built was delivered by the founder of Gemini Catamarans, on a Transatlantic voyage from the NE coast in the US, all the way to England. What makes the Gemini worth it's initial cost were the center boards that allow only 18 inches of draft. It is a great weekend cruiser in environments such as the Chesapeake Bay and similar. But is no way a full time livaboard or world cruiser.

Very good for day sailing. Geminis are found all around the world, and they have also been taken on transatlantic journeys (company's founder delivered the first one to England, took 23 days). As far as the wet head, there are certain limitations given the size of the boat. Having said that, Gemini's designers continue to innovate. Thank you for your comment.
