Tip for next time just use/do a water test for the gold amount in it then you get to keep it as is and you get to sell it as a spec worth way more.

Louis Swanson It would have collapsed into hundreds of smaller nuggets withaout anything to hold it together. As it was, there was no way of telling how much gold was in it and so much was hidden so its value would be little more than a guess in its original state in the quartz

Hi. It was not copper sulphate, it was Borax. Borax reduces the melting point and acts as a flux which helps clean and separate the gold from the slag / impurities.
