I'm not really a fan of tango or flamenco, but this man managed to make me lose myself in this program. I loved it then and it is still one of his best and strongest programs. He was already an outstanding skater back then, but Stephane managed to tease even more out of him. I've been a big fan of Shoma since 2015.

I'm just getting to know Shoma and I love his programs! His relationship with his coach seems great! Adorable!
I cannot stop looking at Shoma videos. All of the technicians and great skaters including Yuzuru do not move me like Shoma. Does anybody notice his coach. I love her to she seems so sweet and genuinely happy for him. A great pair. He has a fiery passion for his art and it comes through in his performance.

I am more interested in Shoma than Yuzu. Yuzu is superior technically because of cleaner takeoffs/aerial positions/landings (when he's in the zone at least). But I just prefer Shoma's choreography and interpretation. I feel like he skates faster too, which speaks of his skating skills and endurance.

C A I agree with you! Shoma's skating skill is definitely better than Yuzu. Unfortunately, jump manias never notice the fact.
@amethyst55124 жыл бұрын
Agreed, I find Shoma’s skating more engaging, more open. Yuzu is a fantastic technician and I greatly admire that but I don’t feel a connection when he skates. I also find that he flails his upper body a lot where shoma seems much more controlled. Shoma also seems to have a greater artistic range.
@nownowswanow4 жыл бұрын
Its speed comes from heavy use of simple crossovers
@daphenaxa7 жыл бұрын
for me it was the best free skate at GPF. Nathan was also amazing but his lack of choreography was a bit jarring. Yuzuru was very good too overall but had some distracting mistakes.

Daphen axa Nah, it was Chen's. I don't find Uno to be very artistic either. Also, very poor music selection in the beginning of Uno's program.
@fafalavigni64057 жыл бұрын
Daphen axa: I agree with you! Both musics, "Buenos Aires Hora Cero" and "Balada para un Loco" (by Astor Piazzolla), are very complex and difficult to interpret but the program is wonderfuly choreographed and exquisitely performed by Shoma Uno!
@danop6627 жыл бұрын
Daphen axa - I thought just the same! I was incredibly impressed by Nathan, but I prefer Shoma's performance, I don't know, it's just prettier in general
@beeswarm76047 жыл бұрын
I loved Nathan's programme, but I wonder if he is a little bit afraid of expressing his artistic side? He still seems a little hesitant to really immerse himself in the programme, though he relaxed a bit later on. Shoma was my favourite to watch, because of how he interacted with the music and how his choreography flowed through the programme. His passion definitely shows.

How To Skate ...I find his jumps superb...his landings are elegant ...he is very short so he is so close to the ice ...fluid motion I am a huge Nathan, Yuzuru & Vincent fan ...but Shoma is along with them in my top 5 men skaters that I follow ...truly great ...as he matures he will be in top rankings fighting for the gold in each event They talk about what is next in jumping ...that they wait to see someone complete a quint...this just might be one of those who do it as he has a tendency at times to not stop his body rotation in the quad ...he has done it twice now that I know of ... he forgets to check his rotation he is so much in committing to the jump ... it has been said they don't think it's humanly possible but he just might be one of the top contenders
@milkyway48275 жыл бұрын
Donna L. Padilla You're a huge Shoma-uber, who is really in denial. Sadly, you're not a fan of figure skating. Shoma can't even do a quad, how do you expect him to do a quint? Well, if you think his jumps are superb, then you surely don't know anything about jumps because over-rotated entries, too much pre-rotation&under-rotation, full blade take-off's on toe jumps, wrong edges, a low free leg and a bad axis, small height and distance definitely aren't superb. You simply believe he's good because he's in the top 5 men but what you don't realize is, that he's only there because he constantly gets overscored at every single event but just keep believing what you want, at the end of the day, everyone who has knowledge about figure skating, knows that his jumps are atrocious. Good day.

Why do I get the feeling he is more like Yuri than Yuri being Yuzuru? Look at that costume
@mymochi44717 жыл бұрын
Neither Yuzuru nor Shoma are the basis for Yuuri. lol The inspiration for his character came from Japan's former generation of top skaters. To be precise, there are many references to Tatsuki Machida and Daisuke Takahashi and only minor hints at Yuzuru. You can find Yuzuru's traits in several other characters though (especially JJ and Yurio, but also in Victor). Shoma is referenced a little bit in Minami, who idolizes Yuuri like Shoma worships Daisuke. All of Yuuri's costumes (including the one from the flashback in ep. 12) are variations of Daisuke's: Eros -> /watch?v=K6NvuVJ8lEU Yuuri's FS look -> /watch?v=CdQlLYAC4Jc and the costume from the flashback, which is exactly the same -> /watch?v=gMs9pfdAMMY

AL hersi I feel like Shoma is our accidental Yuuri. ♡ I know the creators didn't intend for him to be Yuuri, but Shoma is that timid and awkward kid off the ice... but then when he starts skating! Also, given that he idolized Daisuke Takahashi, Uno somehow got that style where he seems to dance with the music on the ice. Very Yuuri Katsuki! I just love watching him.
@mymochi44717 жыл бұрын
*Tag Ulan* Have you met Daisuke or Tatsuki? They're pretty shy off-ice, as well. With Daisuke the on-/off-ice gap is quite astounding. He only opens up when he's around people he knows well or when he's drunk. xD And given, that he IS Daisuke Takahashi he "somehow got that style where he seems to dance with the music. Very Yuuri Katsuki!" Jk, but honestly, I can see where you're coming from. ;-) And I love Shoma as well!
@Coldheart615956 жыл бұрын
i also thought of that too. Shoma's SP lavander ladies = Yuri's LP is yuri on ice Shoma's LP Is Buenos Aires aka Loco = Yuri's SP is In regards to love Eros Accidental similarities! But Yuri Katsudon (lol) is based off a Japanese skater that i forgot.i know it's not Shoma, Yuzuru or even Daisuke
