Got to love the gps trolling motors without question. I was hesitant on buying mine but now I do not have any regrets. People need to consider this not just for the luxury of the benefits of these, but for those questioning the motors like I did but primarily on the safety aspects that these motors provide. Many boat owners have lost their anchors and had to cut them off. I have never heard of a boat owner that never had this issue yet. But also their are those who anchored and either the tides changed, weather issue or something of that matter and or took on water unexpected while anchored. Being anchor free with these motors prevents this and truly is a safety feature that should be applied to all boats. I love the storage you have with your new boat, the teams boat only difference is the motor size. The boat is the same in length and weight however we opted a 150 hp mercury. I like what you stated on the 115 though on getting to the locations fast and it shallower water. That makes total sense however I did not think of that. I will of course soon as I am looking for another motor as a back up so thank you for the advise. I love the tilt steering without question. I am also a fan of garmins, I currently have two on the boat yet I am still in the trial phase with the garmin that I am using for sidevu and downvu only. I heard they are outstanding. Anyways Josh, enjoy your new boat , It looks great and keep the good videos coming.

Thanks bud for the comment, glad I could bring some helpful insight. The trolling motor does work as a great anchor but we definitely keep a typically anchor on board just in case. The convenience the trolling more brings is phenomenal. What does your boat draft with the 150?
@tampabayscharityfishingtea3237 жыл бұрын
Regarding the boat draft, I like generally keeping it above 6 feet of water for of course safety purposes. I have however took it in just under 3 feet of water at shell Island on the beach many times. I never looked at the manual on the draft so I am kinda unsure. At shell Island , I use anchors just for beach purposes and never the trolling motor incase the batteries get to low to function the gps lock. 3 feet was the actual lowest I ever taken it in.

very nice and informative video! I see you have been opening that rig up on the water! 48 mph, I'm impressed!! I am sad they did away with the anchor locker up front and I am still not sure if I like the new seat design over the fold down one from the older models, it's a toss up. Have a great day!
@Saltyscales7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Dale, yes I was interested to see what her true tops speed was. I think they should have kept the anchor locker and the fold-able seat personally.
@glennv59066 жыл бұрын
I think I’m pretty late to this conversation but the fold down seat placed you too low resulting in your knees being higher than your hips making long runs uncomfortable. They improved the anchor locker by hanging the anchor like most other boat manufacturers. It takes up less space and hangs out of the way. It’s a great boat. We sold our 2013 to get a new one earlier this year. Good luck shopping

I know this is a little bit of an older video, but I am looking at one of these boats and had a question as far as the motor on it. I want to be able to cruise at about 40mph without having to have the motor wide open. Will the 115 push that boat fast enough to cruise right around 40, without being at the rev limiter?
@JD-hs7ib4 жыл бұрын
check out the Yamaha webite they may have a bulletin on the 115 and the hewes

Joshua Taylor Yea man thanks but I think I found mine it's a 200 and a 2017 model decked out pretty good with trailer and lots of extras. Seller is very motivated and it has ultra low hrs on the boat. Don't think I am gonna find a better deal right now at 31k with a 150 Etech Evinrude😎
