Well done, sir. Great video. I wasted my time watching 50 other junk videos before I found this one that actually shows how to do the job, no theme music, unintelligible English promoting the channel, shout out to sponsors, like/subscribe noisy crap. Thank you! I liked and subbed.

great video and explanation of the process. I changed this part on a 2011 sonata. I later realized that after I "thought I completed the job the ABS light still remained. after a couple more research videos, I realized that ii might just be the rear abs wheel speed sensor wiring harness. before making the purchase for the harness I swapped out the harness on the opposite side and WALA, problem resolved. the wiring online was for about $15 to 25 dollars. the local part store wanted $130 to $150 and that was on back order. I then decided to go to the a pick a part around one and it only cost me $12 bucks. I think you have a later model Sonata so these parts may be a little bit more but checking all in all checking the wiring harness first will save you a lot of money and time. Appreciate the videos and keep them coming.

Absolutely amazing video! Thank you so much for creating and uploading! Your camera angles, lighting, and step-by-step walkthrough were better than any auto repair videos I've seen online! Have a 2017 Kia Optima with a bad left rear wheel speed sensor and ABS/ESC lights on. I bought the part, then searched for a good how-to video and kept finding ones that just didn't seem to match up with what I was seeing on the Optima. Then I found your video and it was a perfect match, part-for-part and step-by-step! I never could have figured it all out without your awesome video! Got through it without a hitch, no more ABS/ESC light. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Also forgot to mention, your baby extension was awesome! Had to run out and buy one to get the bolts out without removing the shock.

Thanks so much for the positive feedback! Doing the repair is simple but capturing the right angle and lighting is time consuming. It feels good to know someone appreciates my effort.

Finallly a vid that shows the sensor I’m working with! Thanks for making it. Good camera angles and lighting. You may want to add torque specs on the re assembly stages.

Great video! I replaced mine last night and it took way longer than expected due to the caliper bracket bolts being ridiculously difficult to remove. I was worried for a minute. Luckily, removing the sensor from the hub was the easiest part. Thanks for saving me a ton of money :)

Very good filming angle and lights and no music! Subscribed! I enjoyed watching this and I hope this Sonata is not much different than a Santa Fe I have with a bad sensor. Is there a way to test the new sensor to see if it works before installing it? Seeing how the old one had a hard time being removed you may have to punch a hole in the new one to remove it if it doesn't work that wouldn't be so good.

Thanks for the positive feedback! I use a diagnostic machine to see whether or not the sensor is reading by actively looking at the sensor’s output while driving. Average person won’t have this so it’s just a matter of canceling out electrical concerns. If you have a code for the fault, make sure you have source voltage (12V) going to the wire the sensor connects to and a good ground(.5V or less). Those 2 readings will cover a 2-pin connector and can be measured with a basic DMM (voltage tester).

Love your vids man; keep them coming! I got the same car and am getting into auto repair/maintenance. You ever had to change a hood latch/hood latch cable on yours? My hood doesn't open a lot of the times; the cable runs down below the fusebox and it looks like i have to remove the fuse box which seems like a b*tch tbh

No I haven’t on this car but I have the exact same problem. I have to get my fingers under the hood to lift it. Maybe I’ll do a DIY on that repair, subscribe I may make that one soon. I have this car on Turo so I’ll do that repair when it isn’t being rented out.

@@cleanhandmechanic6325 CHM! Hey buddy! I actually was able to solve the hood latch not opening issue! (I have since fixed my sisters 2015 sonata hood latch not opening issue as well, so I know for a fact it works!) Next time you get your hood open, look at the inside top of the hood, near the front. There are two rubber stops (cylindrical with a rounded top). Rotate these two counter clockwise to loosen then, this will in turn lengthen these two rubber stoppers. When you now close the hood, these rubber stoppers will be under tension, so when you pull on the hood latch, the tension will be released and itll pus the hood up to the second latch and then you can just open as usual. Let me know if this works for you or if you have any questions!

Do you have a part number for the wheel speed sensor? I can’t seem to find anything but the wiring harness. Edit: I’ve found it. Hidden in the wheel hub assembly. Hyundai PN 58980C1100 be careful ordering from rock auto. The daily driver section has Mando brand marked as a wheel speed sensor when it’s just the wiring harness.

I don’t order ANYTHING from Rock Auto I don’t like that company at all, I’ve had a couple bad experiences with them. Worse thing is they charge you for shopping and handling in returns when they’re the reason you have the wrong part. For that reason I do not shop with them.

I have a 2016 Hyundai Sonata Sport. My left rear speed sensor needs to be changed. Where would you recommend buying the part from? I seen the whole hub for sale but not just the sensor part I need. I got a code from O'reillys. It's 512553.

Hey Stacy, I was trying to avoid spending that money too. I can’t remember specifically but I only order parts from O’reilly or Ebay. I’ll try and check for you, it’ll be in my order history.
