I own one. I bought it in 2020 it's a 2016. One of the best I have ever owned. Here are the downsides. 1. The transmission (the CVT type) are worthless, you could get lucky like I did and get a particularly good one, but for the most part the guys I know with a Patriot have transmission issues but only with the automatic transmissions. Standard transmissions no issues. 2. The radio in the Patriot/Compass is garbage it will not likely last beyond 3 years. Amazon has an aftermarket radio available that is great, cost about $300 when I bought mine in 2023. 3. If your Patriot has a sunroof keep it real clean on the outside seal the edges tend to develop leaks due to dirty clogged sunroof water drain seals. (keep an eye on any water stains on your roof liner up close to the rear view mirror), if there are water stains just clean the sunroof/water seal on the roof. 4. Crankshaft RPM sensor, its a faulty item. You'll know if yours is done when you stop at a red light and you stall for no reason, or your driving at a normal speed and have to stop quickly and stalls. $300-$400 if your lucky. $700 tops. Worth it though. Fun in the winter especially when your neighbors are digging out their vehicles. Don't forget. If you want your vehicle to act like a Jeep you need to buy a Jeep. (That's my slogan, ask me for usage permission)
