2016 Jeep Wrangler cold start stalling when shifting - Video 2

2016 Wrangler automatic Wrangler stalling when cold start shift to reverse. Frequent occurrence.

Lots of jeeps are doing this. I have seen tork converter replaced and fixed, I also have seen computer in transmission replaced and fixed. Lastly, I have seen transmission fluid replaced and it help problem. I personally think it is the reverse clutch spline gear that will fail. Jeep has the Mercedes transmission in them. There is a fix that includes more teeth on clutch release gear. Jeep knows about this issue but refuses to do a recall. Many of the 2014-2017 has this issue, including mine. I would change the transmission oil on Jeeps scheduled maintenance and hopefully the recall will be issued soon. 722.6 and 722.9 trans. Part number MB-CP-11KA. These trans are very expensive to flush if the converter fails, or need new lower computer in transmission. Keep your maintenance up to date where jeep has no way to say it was due to maintenance issue. If your not throwing a code, it's hard to diagnosis. Be careful about going to transmission shop bc they love to rebuild transmissions for any reason. This is how they make money. Watch for any additional issues, slipping, increased revs on tack, noises, or vibrations.

Same problem, not looking forward to going to the dealer, i know its the torque converter but will probable get the run around

Mines doing the exact same thing as are a lot of other peoples. Jeep should make this a recall

lots of people saying this is caused by torque converter clutches locking up. mine typically dies once and tries to die a second time. only stays running if i let off the brake and just let it roll as soon as i shift it. did you get it fixed?
