Lots of jeeps are doing this. I have seen tork converter replaced and fixed, I also have seen computer in transmission replaced and fixed. Lastly, I have seen transmission fluid replaced and it help problem. I personally think it is the reverse clutch spline gear that will fail. Jeep has the Mercedes transmission in them. There is a fix that includes more teeth on clutch release gear. Jeep knows about this issue but refuses to do a recall. Many of the 2014-2017 has this issue, including mine. I would change the transmission oil on Jeeps scheduled maintenance and hopefully the recall will be issued soon. 722.6 and 722.9 trans. Part number MB-CP-11KA. These trans are very expensive to flush if the converter fails, or need new lower computer in transmission. Keep your maintenance up to date where jeep has no way to say it was due to maintenance issue. If your not throwing a code, it's hard to diagnosis. Be careful about going to transmission shop bc they love to rebuild transmissions for any reason. This is how they make money. Watch for any additional issues, slipping, increased revs on tack, noises, or vibrations.

Did anyone purchase winter tire for their RIDGLINE ? Or stay driving on the snow with the originally M plus S TIRE ?

Thank you for risking your life in making of the video. Lol. Now I know what my 22 rtl can do in snow if I ever have the need to drive that fast on slush or fresh snow. Accelerating on ramp like that was even scarier 😂. Great video though.👍

This is the perfect truckette for maloonials. For us "REAL MEN", we will NEVER consider it a real truck, No matter what THEY do to it.
@shawnb58342 жыл бұрын
Considering I also have a sierra, I can confirm this truck is suitable for the average consumer for 90% of the tasks they own a truck for. Obviously if you need to truck for heavy hauling or longer beds, there are other options. My sierra consumes nearly double the fuel this does for the same tasks....

@rocketmode5282 жыл бұрын
lots of people saying this is caused by torque converter clutches locking up. mine typically dies once and tries to die a second time. only stays running if i let off the brake and just let it roll as soon as i shift it. did you get it fixed?
@eastwood2522 жыл бұрын
Im having this exact issue. Only on cold start, started happening the year I purchased, brought to Jeep several times and they found nothing. They kept it overnight to see if it happened on a cold start for them and nothing. Mechanics cant explain and all over the internet it says the Torque Converter. My mechanic gives me the typical "everyone on google has an opinion, it's not the torque converter". Did you resolve the issue? If so, how? My warranty just ran out in April and I/m wondering if theres anything I can do with Jeep to have them repair. Thanks!
@shawnb58342 жыл бұрын
Ours was the value body on the tranny. Contact jeep head office. We left the jeep at the dealer for 3 weeks before they were able to replicate the problem. Jeep also told us there was nothing wrong with the tranny because it doesn't throw a code. There is a section of the transmission troubleshooting manual that states this condition and two possible causes for it.

I typically won't drive in inclement weather unless it's an emergency but I got caught in some snow coming back from a long road trip a few days ago. The only route home was over a mountain pass at about 7,000 feet and it started snowing rather heavily during my ascent. By the time I reached the peak, it was coming down hard and beginning to stick. I made it home though (another 30 miles) thanks to the Ridgeline's AWD system. Mine is a 2020 model but I think the only difference over yours is I have the upgraded 9-speed transmission. That was the first I've ever driven in the snow with this vehicle and I have to say the way it handled the snow so confidently helped calm my nerves a great deal. I also agree with you when you mentioned how it handles the slushy thick stuff you get into when changing lanes. I felt it, but it wasn't the white-knuckle experience I felt in previous vehicles, especially other pickup trucks I've owned. Thanks for the review.

I have a 2016 JK ruby and does the same thing. Searched the entire internet and found that it’s likely a problem with the torque converter. A factory issue. I don’t think it will get worse overtime if you don’t take care of it (I’ve had it for 2 months). But I am not certain on that. If you bring it to a shop and tell them this then they will say “yea people online say a bunch of different things about Jeep’s” and then do the easiest thing possible. Look into the TCC and you’ll probably find what I found. Maybe start by changing the trans fluid? Go from there. Good luck brother!

Thanks for the video. I was going to trade my 2014 Corolla in on a suv because my family needs a little more room. I had a full size Silverado before the Corolla and didn’t really care for it. After some thought I think the Ridgeline would check more boxes for us. I live in Michigan and most Michiganders are highly experienced in snow driving no matter what platform but the AWD would be very welcomed. I appreciate the snow cruise/ review video.

Lol what snow???? I live the Canadian province of Quebec...I have a Ridgeline and you don't have a clue what you're taking about.... get real...unless you deal with 6 to 10 inch of snow you should keep your little comments about winter driving to yourself...the Ridgeline is doing great and no amount of your sudo evaluation is...even if it's positive , can really account for real winter driving. I have really nothing negative to say about the truck except for the LKA, radar and cruise control that work like crap when it's snowing, freezing rain...they just fail.... other than that it's a great truck.

great demo of the capable ridgeline. I have had many vehicles from pathfinder (gas guzzling crap 4x4), Tacoma TRD (worst driving position ever) sport, Ram quad (junk), 4runner TRD (my favorite but got written off by a shit driver) etc.. outside of rock crawling, this Japanese El Camino rivals all.

How do you think the Gen 2 Ridgeline will do on a 200-300 mile backcountry gravel road? I’m not talking a badly rutted rock crawling forestry road but a reasonably maintained gravel road.

A good friend of mine moved to Florida for a state trooper position. During training they soap up a special surfaced skid course to practice sliding cars. After my friends seemingly unbelievable ability to clear the course the instructor asked where he learned to drive that way. My friend replied,” in northern Michigan we tend to drive sideways 9mo out of the year”! The instructor told him they would make a few more passes after class dismisses!🤣😂🤣
