I wonder if you have a drain plug on the bottom of the gearbox like mine does? That way you get more fluid out of system. Great video anyway.

Where do we get the cap for the power steering fluid revivor. Mine is striped also nice video!
@TigerMonkey717 жыл бұрын
Good video but this doesn't flush the entire system of fluid. You need to turn the wheels back and forth a few times to properly drain all of the fluid. Check out the video - TRW Commercial Steering Systems : Flushing and Air Bleeding the Hydraulic Steering System

That fitting that you first took the hose off of, do you know what they are called? I can't find them anywhere and have several oozing at the nut.

The T680 and T880 PS pump reservoir look the same. Is Dextron III required, or can I use Dextron II? I'm doing this tomorrow on my T880.

you didn't drain the box. I use engine oil instead, recommended by the place that resealed the box for me . when you get a reman at the dealer or parts house, this is one of the places that did it. saved a ton of money going directly to them.
@ronahop5 жыл бұрын
leomikie thanks, and you are correct. I didn’t know at the time I made the vid that it was necessary to do so. I should take it down, just honestly haven’t gotten around to it. Good advice though. Thank you.

Ron Hopkins As cheap as fluid is I replaced the filter and just do a drain&fill on mine more often than required. I’ve got the older metal reservoir with the drain plug in the bottom. I’ve also heard that engine oil could be used but I never have.

I believe the system hold 6 qts, so this wasn't an actual flush. Watch for air pockets. Start truck, turn wheel a dozen or so times, recheck fluid level.

Yup, I usually just pump out the reservoir when it comes to changing the filter, when is time to flush I'm lazy, I have shop do it. Hope they do it right lol
@prevost86865 жыл бұрын
That’s incredulous at best and diabolical at worst. Leading others down a path of squalid fluid maintenance.
