www.autobytel.c... For the 2016 model year, the CX-5 has undergone a slew of changes ranging from the new front grille, to drivetrain tweaks, to improvements in the cabin, along with a host of safety technologies. The CX-5 has been leading the compact crossover segment since its introduction and for 2016, this baby ups the ante. The CX-5 performs and handles like a much more expensive vehicle.
The Grand Touring AWD model starts at $29,470 and comes with the larger 2.5 SkyActiv engine which makes 184 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy is a bit less for the AWD model at 24 MPG in the City and 30 MPG on the highway.
The Mazda CX-5 delivers solid handling, fuel efficiency, and value. With the upgraded cabin, the suite of safety technology, and the infotainment system; the 2016 model puts it all together.

Only have refilled my new 2016 CX-5 Touring once, so take that with a grain of salt. Did lots of research prior to buying this car..Wife, even made an excel spreadsheet to compare Outback, Rav 4 and CX-5. There is little to no road noise.. Plus most of us listen to music anyways.. Wish it had a little more cargo room, and memory seats, but I can't complain for the price, technology package included. Love the power, where power is needed, smooth ride and look. FYI, free navigation updates for 3 years. Bose stereo sounds incredible and now don't mind being stuck in traffic! Test drive one, you won't be disappointed. One more thing, read and watch all the popular review forums, sites, youtube. They are not being paid to praise how well Mazda has done on their 2016 CX-5.

So happy these come with a 6 speed auto! The CVT transmissions are lethargic in traffic and about as responsive as a 4 speed auto. I drove a 2018 Forester and absolutely hated the transmission! These Mazdas on the other hand actually respond quickly when you need it to.

I'm liking my 2016 CX5 AWD Touring. A couple of markdowns are: Front seats are too narrow at the shoulder.(Kelly Blue Book review mentions this) I fixed with a custom 2 inch thick high density foam insert which keeps shoulders from pressing against bucket bolsters. Mazda should fix this problem. Too much chrome on the dash. The chrome vent louver reflects sun glare in driver's rear-view mirror. Shiny silver across dashboard, on door handle area, around shifter all cause glare from sun. I used blackout tape to eliminate this. Also, headrests on rear seats severely obstruct rear view. I removed the rear headrests since I rarely carry passengers. Otherwise rear seats must be folded down for full rear view. The bluetooth connection with iPhone was terrible but improved with new iOS. Still less than stellar. I specifically chose the AWD CX5 for 8.5 inch ground clearance needed for bad dirt road I use daily. The CX3 might be a better choice if you have no need for extra ground clearance. I fit my 6-foot camping bed from previous car (2007 RAV4) in the CX5 and had a great shakedown camping trip to southern Utah. Also worth mentioning, Mazda fixed the air conditioner problem on 13 and 14 CX5 models. The 2016 AC is awesome. It was 115 degrees in Palm Springs the day I bought my CX5 and the AC was very comfortable on medium.

Another great review, Dan. Seems like this vehicle, like most in this class, have an uphill battle to take on the CR-V. BTW, good to see that Mazda has not jumped on the Continuously Lethargic Transmission bandwagon. Nissan is living to regret it with all the problems its having.

No rear climate controls? No reclinable rear seats? What's with cars in this class not focusing on rear passenger comfort?

The driver is really the matter here though because he/she does drive it and kinda of the passenger too I agree with you! But the crv does have recline back passenger seat and two air vents

Who gives a damn about the music, this isn't a vid to appeal to your music needs, what makes the review questionable is that it's bias towards the mx-5

+stan needelman Do you measure at the pump when you fill up? Thtas the only way to know for sure I have found the computer is a little optimistic. I have a 2013 also I average around 27 that I measure at the pump however the computer tells me im avg 28.5. I have a mazdaspeed3 and its the same about 1mpg optimistic. The way to measure at the pump is to fill up, drive, fill up again then divide the miles by the gallaons.

2016 CX-5 GPS PROBLEM Does any body know when Mazda will resolve the real-time "traffic update" feature on its new (2016) NAVTEC GPS for the CX-5? The option doesn't work (it is gray), so alternate route(s) are not displayed when traffic delays, congestion, accidents, detours, road construction, etc. are encountered on a planned route.On the previous CX-5 models (2014; 2015), the TomTom feature was called "traffic alert" and it worked (most of the time).

its all subjective, if you are spending all day in a car, get a electro magnetic field meter, or radiation RFmeter. and start up the car and see how much of a emf field your being bathed in. Every car has some, but some are over the limits. of what is necessary to get one down the road.

Can someone tell me please, why no one until now gathered the new Tiguan, newTucson & the mazda cx 5 and compare it all together ?? it worth it !!!
@patrickdezenzio4988
@patrickdezenzio4988 8 жыл бұрын
+Khaled Haddad I don't think you can compare a Tiguan to a CX-5. Pricing a similar Tiguan sets you back $36,500 for the SEL. That's almost $5,000 more than a similarly-equipped CX-5.

it's on my shopping list for next year, but I don't want to pay extra for the safety package or the stupid expensive LED headlights that cost $1500 where I could just get some HIDS for about $100 install.

+Sylvia Lopez the navigation it's still to expensive for something I never use and if I have to we'll I got my phone. it's still overpriced. Navies should be optional and LEDS standard as the provide better visibility. with the Tucson they como standard on the limited and is you want more light well you can get Xenons. the Toyota corolla has LEDS and I just don't get why all cars just don't get them.
