I really like the new Mini. I drove one the other day it was a eye opener just how good they are to drive I want one badly

+Ian Townsend It depends what you want from your car. The JCW is such a brilliant little car and came 3rd in our "Car of the Year" 2015. Coopers S and Cooper are both good in their own right, but for me I didn't want to give the JCW back after testing it.

+Aamer Habib It depends what sort of car you are after. Open 150 is a Cooper S at the end of the day. JCW is a bit more hardcore so it depends what you want from your mini. Personally I love the JCW hatch so I'd likely make the same choice for convertible.

In our household we have 2 minis (cooper 1.6 & Clubman S) and my MX5 ND. My dad complains about the clubman, it won't stopping spinning is wheels when setting off, probably a symptom of bad rubber and the seat are un comfortable over long journeys. However the cooper (hard top version of the one above) is a bit better, nicer seats etc but the interiors just totally rubs me the wrong way, it seem to be trying to hard to be "Retro" and "Cool" and that not mentioning 90% of the option shown above cost mucho money to fit them all. It does all in all seem like a BMW in drag (Which is really is).

+JoshDOTPlay The options are pretty costly, but personally I like the interior. I wouldn't say it is a BMW in drag. Yes, it does share some parts but the driving characteristics are very different to any BMW.

It looks more mature and the increase in quality lends it to be more premium.

+Bred Saint Don't be rude mister Saint, owning a R57 MINI currently, and having driven the newer F56, it is indeed much more grown up as stated. Ride quality is way more compliant, road noise more tolerable and the interior quality is a revelation. My R57 seems to shake it's interior to pieces due to its hard ride and patchy interior quality. The gear knob fell apart in my hands last year going from 2nd to 3rd. The new MINI also i feel, is more grown up due to that fun fizzy feeling being neutered out of the drive. The new quality and quietness has meant that engine noise and steering feel are softer and less MINI like than i would expect. The new car feels more like a comparative to a GT style of cruising, rather than the older models behaving like tiny little sports cars. Therefore: More grown up. And the price increases aren't anything major anyway. Inflation is a bastard, who knew.

+James Richardson What exactly is rude on my comment? If saying the truth is rude then you're totally biased. I must say tho, you're a better or more reliable source of information than this guy on inside lane. Mini in general has some cabin noise issue, no doubt about that.
