We try to offer our personal opinions on the vehicles that we review, despite what we've heard or seen, and this Outlander Sport was one of the vehicles that tested way better than we thought it would. Thank you for your support, Donell Clemons. We truly appreciate it!

We own a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport 2.4L GT 4X4 and could not be happier! We purchased it on 10/31/16 brand new. It was $32,940.00 and after Rebates and Discounts it was $26,700.00. Our GT was higher than most as it had the Optional Navigation Package, LED Interior Illumination Package, Upgraded LED Fog Lights to match the HID Headlights, Cargo Package, Remote Engine Start, Park Assist Package, Chrome Package, Sport Package with Larger Rear Spoiler and Steel Fuel Door, Mud Guards, Rear Silver Bumper Under Cover and more!!! It drives like a true SUV and sits high and does not feel like a wagon or hatchback (Honda HR-V) when you drive it. The ride is surprisingly good and handling is confident and we are getting around 26-27 mpg combined driving. You cant find a new SUV with all these Features, Capabilities, Safety, and Warranty for $27,000.00 loaded with everything. The Panoramic Roof and 710 Watt Rockford Fosgate Audio is amazing sounding. We also own a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage ES CVT that we purchased new and now has 13,000 miles on it and we love it. I wanted a small car that was loaded with every option and feature and the Mirage was perfect. We got the top trim ES with CVT and the optional Navigation & Back Up Camera Package, Chrome Package, Cargo Package, Exterior Appearance Package, Front & Rear Park Assist Package, and many more Accessories. All the other cars in the class I looked at cost alot more when loaded out and you could not get alot of the features that the Mirage offered. For example even the base trim had Auto Climate Control (manual on 2017 base), AC, PW, PL, PM, AM FM CD and Ipod Hook Up. On top of all this you get the 10 year 100,000 mike warranty and 37 city and 44 highway mpg and 40 combined. I average 43 in the city and 47 on the highway but can top 50 if careful. Every owner for the most part exceeds what Mitsu claims for MPG. So I say if you are thinking about a Mitsubishi go for it. The new Outlander Sport is a true feeling SUV with selectable 4X4 with a button (2WD, Auto 4X4, 4X4 Lock) and loaded with features, safety and an amazing warrnaty. Also most Mitsubishi owners love their cars as a girl I work with has a 2011 Lancer with well over 100,000 miles on it and still running strong no issues. You can also go to KBB and see an owner review of a 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage ES CVT with over 220,000 miles on it and only regular maintenance (photo to prove miles with review). We have owned many cars and most of them brand new and have never been happier than with out 2 Mitsubishi. Previous Cars: 2013 Hyundai Elantra GLS, 2010 Kia Soul Exclaim, 2008 Hyundai Sonata GLS, 2005 Chevy Cavalier LS, 2003 Hyundai Accent GT, 2002 Kia Rio (all were brand new except the Cavalier had 3,000 miles when I purchased it 1 year old). Go deive a Mitsubishi and decide for yourself. We listend to Auto Car reviews when we purchased our 2013 Elantra cause it got such good ratings (Consumer Reports and many more) then after we bought it I I read all the disappointed owner reviews. We were not happy with the car the 13,000 miles we owned it (traded it on the Outlander Sport) and had I read the owner reviews we more than likely would have got something else. Make your own decision but I can tell you all Mitsubishi owners I personally know love them!

K McKenzie I agree with you McKenzie. I have a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage MT too lmao and I prefer their clutch over Toyota anytime lmao and others. I also have ASX or Outlander Sport as well. 2016. Now I have Pajero SPORT 2017. I have other cars and trucks like F250 and H3 and a Grand Cherokee. But boy do I love my Mitsies.

26k sounds like a lot. We bought a brand new Subaru Forester Premium with panoramic roof for $25,500 OTD. I am pretty sure a base SE Outlander 4WD can still be had under 17500 dollars. I would be careful with the options list and get as much discounts as possible. Under 20k makes sense, but definitely not 25 grand.

Honestly i'm a fan of the Suspension. With it being a crossover and at a decent height, it has just the right amount of body roll and dampening, but that's all more of a personal opinion kind of thing. It still handles very firm on tight corners and sharp hills. I know that from 3 years of experience with this model car. Ive owned both, a 2.0 Manual 2015 and 2.4 CVT 2016

Mitsu needs to redo their entire current model lineup. Hopefully, the recent purchase of them by Nissan Renault will help on this front. I don't even know anyone who still has Mitsu on their radar.
@flakeu

This is absolutely true! We are still unsure if Nissan Renault will want to keep Mitsubishi in North America. They need to make a statement to reassure potential buyers that they make Mitsu go away from here.

Nissan has been making less reliable cars since they bought Renault. I hope some of that Mitsubishi blood improves matters (and they don’t screw up Mitsubishi cars).

Me too. I’d like an impression of the base or SE manual. I see them for $14k after discounts. About the price of a base Kia Soul.

I bought a base se manual about a year ago and am still really thrilled about it. Not much is different from this review except touch screen infotainment and panoramic sunroof. The main thing is the manual transmission makes the power more available. Especially with a small displacement engine (2L) I think the manual is the only way to go! I bought my 2017 brand new for $15.9k off the lot even though the sticker was for over $20k

Hello AutoAcademics, do you know what happened with the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport trims? I can only find the base ES model on Mitsu's website. Are the SE, GT, SEL gone?

@AutoAcademics
@AutoAcademics 8 жыл бұрын
ivanovic99 Sorry about that. It defaults to the Outlander each time we try to do a search and we didn't notice it. Apparently, as you saw, Mitsubishi is just listing the ES trim on their site right now. The main pic at the top of their page is of a GT, though, and the fine print says it's coming soon. If we hear anything else, we'll post back on here for you.

Will Mitsubishi even be selling cars in the US in 5 years? That 5 year warranty may not be worth the paper it's printed on.
@AutoAcademics
@AutoAcademics 8 жыл бұрын
While we do not have specific details, J High, it's our understanding that the Outlander Sport is due to be redesigned in 2018, so we'd guess that ownership experiences would not be affected by a shortened warranty period due to Mitsubishi closing its doors. We appreciate your comments!
