Oregon should have won this game. Prukup under threw Charles Nelson at the end when he was wide open.

Oregon was in a down year that year. They had a transfer QB (Dakota Prukop from Montana State) who really was over his head. Justin Herbert would later that year start for Oregon and go on to have a storied career with the Ducks. It might have been different with Herbert playing? My business associate's son played DT for the Ducks (Henry Mondeaux) and was originally recruited by Pelini. Oregon's coach was later fired by Oregon and was handpicked by Chip Kelly. Henry plays for the Steeler now. It was one win by Riley over Oregon but when he was the Beaver's coach Oregon owned him. And yes, that was one LOUD game.

I always suspected that Riley won this one because he had experience playing Oregon and knew what might work, if you had the personnel to do it.
