As a long time Dolphin fan, it pains me to see what Marino had to put up with. One of the biggest reasons he couldn't get a ring was because the Dolphin defenses couldn't stop anybody, and this video is perfect proof of that.
@cpuwrite5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that defense was awful. The fact that the Bills' offense at that time had HOW MANY FUTURE HALL OF FAMERS? on it doesn't count for anything. Nope.
@cpuwrite5 жыл бұрын
@Paul Harmon I understand. In fact, having watched him play, I've come to feel that he had a technique advantage over other quarterbacks. He threw the ball from his wrist, which enabled him to throw the ball 30 yards downfield while BACKPEDALING. Because of this, you couldn't really blitz Dan Marino. What gets me is that not only has this technique disappeared from the league since his retirement, but I've heard sports writers refer disparagingly to it when other quarterbacks DID use it as "throwing darts." What's with all these people? They can't all be that stupid. What do the coaches know that I don't?

Blame it on Dan Marino & don shula along with that killer 🐝🐝 🐝 🐝 🐝 🐝 🐝 🐝 🐝 Bee's with no blacks on defense like the fake 72 no name defense. The Pittsburgh Steelers proved that you better have black jersey and black players to be dominant. Now tell that to don Sheila! Miami offense reminded me of he Houston oilers offense with Warren moon but the oilers had to play the steelers twice, lucky for Miami, and 1984 Marino only super bowl with Marino the steelers was the only team to beat the San Francisco 49ers and would have played a better game against the 49ers than the dolphins in that super bowl steelers 24 49ers23!
@VanillaGamingCo5 жыл бұрын
@@cpuwrite you're not seeing the big picture here Jeff. Yes that Bills team was good but the Miami Dolphins defense was TERRIBLE in the Marino ers, you can't deny that. And yeah sure the Bills had some great players but did you look back on that years stats? In the 16 regular season games the Bills only scored 44pts or more ONCE in 16 games, and that was 45 against the pitiful Phoenix Cards. So yeah, them putting up 44 on the Dolphins in a playoff game was 100% the Dolphins pathetic defense in cold weather games. One thing I liked about pre 2000s football was the lack of information on the screen. Today you'll have a ticker at the bottom telling you other scores, a ticker up top posting Tweets, a box on the right side with Pro Stats like how many steps Anontio Brown took to take a shit and show a dotted line and 360 camera view of his trip. Back then it's just the game. You want other scores? TOO BAD.

Well, NBC had the "10 minute ticker" that periodically showed other game scores on the screen. But that was again before the information overload of lines on the field for scrimmage and first down and field goal range, the game clock, 40 second clock and yards to go and, and ... You had to know your football and pay a lot closer attention to what the situation on the field was. This was before the stupidity of instant fantasy football information, and when individual stats were printed in the box scores in the next day newspaper. Also when someone tackled a kick or punt returner after a 2 yard gain, the player did not carry on at the middle of the field after the play. It was a simpler time.

Matthew Gates As soon as he can figure out where the wrs are on the field we will be just fine. If he doesn't he'll break the qb rushing record.

Matthew Gates Ya, thanks for the comment. I kinda just see Allen as a white Ej Manuel that runs faster. I don't know why when the qb situation in buffalo is always the biggest problem they do so little to fix it. I would just tell 15-20 teams we will give you 3 first round draft picks for a stud qb and be done with it. I mean what have we even done lately with first round picks anyways? Not a whole lot have we?

Love how Thurman is literally on the field every offensive play other then when he’s dead tired. Blocking or passing back didn’t matter he was both and was great at both

This is a really late reply, but I always wonder why Thurman is rarely mentioned amongst the great backs of all-time. He could do it all. Run, catch, and block in pass protection.
