This is the 2016 Peugeot 508 and it is ready to challenged the likes of Ford Mondeo and Mazda 6 in the family saloon arena. Packed full of standard equipment including; touchscreen display, cruise control, dual zone climate control, this car represents good value.
Powered by a 1.6 litre Blue HDI diesel engine and a 6 speed automatic transmission, the new 508 claims 72 MPG combined and emits just 102g/km CO2.
This entry level car looks good with 17 inch alloy wheels and a facelift front grill.

I had the pre facelifted version of this car and would happily buy another one. Very easy to drive and has plenty of kit for the low prices they are sold for second hand. Driven 750m in the one day back to Scotland from France and had no complaints. Only sold it as needed a seven seater.

I've just bought the same car but in SW guise. It's miles better than it's predecessor which I traded in, and don't go for the semi auto gearbox. The 6 speed manual is far, far better. A lovely, lovely car. It is so, so quiet. Chill!

All reviews should be based on basic spec cars. It might encourage manufacturers to up their game. I am sick of reviewers saying how great cars are, provided you add active suspension, upgraded infotainment etc. (In particular, German, cough, brands, cough,)

+paliccolo frankly... incomparable because Octavia fits into lower segment. the right one to compre with would be Superb, but I think it would beat Pug hands down, because of beeing made on far more modern/newer platform, that can be (and is) fitted with newer driving aid tech and because (like Octavia) is streched slightly over the size of its segment, so it's roomier than Pug.

Also wouldent agree that skoda is fitted with more driving aid's. Skoda are very basic in my opinion

I have the 2011 model with 40k on the clock and the rear passenger led lights are rather dim and was told I have to buy the whole bloody unit at£350, love the car but this is a joke.
