I just purchased a new 2016 Bandit leftover that I found sitting in a dealership warehouse in Ohio. Got it at a steal new with 4 miles on the clock. I had always heard this bike was bulletproof and just plain fun to ride. It shares a garage now with my 2005 Kawasaki ZX-12R and my 2018 Aprilia Dorsoduro 900. Bottom line, I am glad I got it. The up right ride is a pleasure on longer hauls and the torque at low end makes it pull strong and so smooth. It's now my go to bike for longer rides where I am not with a group doing high speed runs. All three of my bikes each fill a certain niche in my riding needs and they are all great for what they are made for. The pipe did come off on day one with a K&N intake filter and a Dale Walker Hole shot kit is next up. This is a super good bike and I understand there a two or three more out there in dealerships around the USA if anyone wants a great deal. Great video thanks!

That was not a review. Pipes don't matter they go out with a stage1 that nearly most riders do. Bars dont matter they are a cheap change and rear sets will give the sporty race feel. No mention of liquid cooled in line 4, 6 speed high torque motor. 12 sec quarter mile bike at stock with a top speed of 230kph. Susprension?, Brakes?. Tyres?. Compression?. Weight?, trail?, seat?, rims?, colour choice?, fuel tank range?, Remember a review is not about what your used to or what you like or don't, that is personal opinion.

Bought my 2008 Bandit 1250 when I was 24. The secret to this bike is that the torque is everywhere, you never have to downshift. There's also so much room to add power, thanks to the low compression ratio.

The Bandit is a mile cruncher - always has been, always will be. But she's heavy as Hell! The naked 750, while a good bike, has limited accessories. Same for the new 1000 sport tourer. No hard luggage ever? That's why I had the Ninja 1000. If you're comparing those two the Ninja is just a more versatile bike - with an adjustable windscreen. I'm not out to see which is faster overall because they're both insane bikes that you'll never totally utilize anywhere near their full potential on the street, so that's a stupid argument. Other than that, I find your review lacking. If it's not your cup of tea then hand it over and let someone else review it for God's sake. You kept saying, 'as you can see.' Really? I couldn't see shit on the dash as you tried explaining things. Even your walk around was shot with no closeups. Stick to reviewing the 'R' models. They have your beloved clip-ons.

Sorry, but reviews, If you can call this that, like this are what killed the bike's sales and the bike itself. No where did you get into ride quality, comfort, brakes... I can go on. The sad thing is YOU WORK AT A SUZUKI DEALERSHIP! You do know that this engine has been in production for more than two decades, starting as a 1150cc block, the same block that gave birth to the Busa. What kills the bike isn't the softness of the suspension but that they dogged it down to under 100hp! I know people that dumped a tidy sum on the engine and got 145hp at the crank, 130hp at the rear. Now this is a $10,000 bike. For $10,000 I'd hope they give THOSE specs to the stock motor. Cheaper to upgrade suspension than engine. You should have taken that bike on the backroads you like to get frisky on and ripped it up a bit. Even with the stock engine/suspension you can have fun in the first three gears. I'll give Suzuki credit. They put out a big block mellow rocket ship that's predictable. That's what they wanted and it's perfect in that respect. Suzuki is slow on the uptake. That's why their sales suck in this particular attempt. I bought a 2003 Yamaha FZ-1 (black/ yellow, yeah baby). Reason I did was they didn't really detune the R-1 engine, they re-geared it. Smaller carbs, granted, but I liked it. Quicker response than the R-1 of that year. Same upright position as the Bandit but a shitload more fun. I had mine topped out at 155mph stock, brand new...lol. Felt like I was riding I on glass. THAT'S what the Bandit SHOULD be. Change the gearing on the Bandit it would be a lot more fun. But yeah, If I had the money I'd still upgrade engine first. It has potential. It's a baby Busa in hibernation. A 200lb muffler don't help...lol. But she does cruise at 80mph better than a Ducati, at about 3,700rpm. So if you're into chewing miles, in that respect, this is a sport bike compared to a Goldwing, BMW R1200RT, Concourse. You know what I'm saying. And they gave it a great seat for that and tons of aftermarket. If you commute on the highway, say a half hour a day each way I guarantee you'll see 55mpg+. Lots of owners report 240-250 a tank. It's the perfect utilitarian bike. That's what sucks about it. It has no soul. But it is a perfect example of whatever it is!

Yea see I understand the bike has purpose but at the time of recoding this video i was looking at it from a point of view of what i enjoyed and to be honest its not a very attractive bike compared to other options but non the less it has two wheel and well definitely get you from point a to b

Kickin It With Krash ..... I've sat on the FZ-09/07. The handlebars are way more upright than the Bandit. Dirt bike upright.The wheel feels like it's right under my nuts. But that's not a fair comparison when those last two bikes weigh over one hundred pounds less. The Yamahas are hooligan oriented. I can easily spank them with my antique 1986 Yamaha SRX600, weighing in at 287lbs. wet. So let's not get into how technology has so greatly improved. It's all about the intent of use. The Bandit will be yet another unsung great motorcycle. Suzuki as a company is, and has been struggling. I doubt they'll come back with the Bandit soon, if ever. The one greatly missed point about that bike is that it has always been a bargain. It's a bike that's customizable in any direction your wallet takes you.

Love my bandit. Thing has gobs of torque down low, 80lb-ft stock at ~3,400 rpm. There's a guy named Dale Walker who makes parts, and lots of them, for this bike, gets the torque closer to 100lb-ft and hp to a more respectable level. Loved your review; this is, as I said, my current and first bike after growing up on dirtbikes. Throw a 4-2-1 and slip on on it, take the secondary butterflies out, powercommander and airbox mod, good to go.

I think they design the newer motorcycles all weird looking because certain models (weird looking) sell to kids/young people. Because those young people they're all into the freaky cartoons and weird movies with vehicles/transformers that look like Robot Insects or something. Of course, they are incorrect to think cars and motorcycles should look all angular/robotic insect looking/cartoonish and whatever the heck weird stuff they're into these days. I was laughing when I read your comment "Nightmare shit school of design" LOLOL that pretty much sums it all up really. And these are not my opinions these are facts!

@@KickinItWithKrash I used to have a Bandit 1200, '05 model bought new. Great bike, kind of fat and heavy, but pretty fast and fun to ride. I finally grew up a bit and sold it a few years later. Now I have an old '98 Harley Sportster, you know, the real sportsters that sat fairly tall, skinny in the midsection, and a solid mounted engine. I added a chain drive (belt sucked in my opinion), then a few year later upgraded the engined with a Hammer Performance 1250 kit, complete with 540 cams, porting job and head/ valve work, Mikuni pumper carb, thunderheader exhaust. I haven't had it on a dyno yet, but it's supposed to be in the 120hp range with the current mods. It's definitely fast as hell though and a blast to ride.

Is there any difference between FULL & SEMI fairing when running fast ?
@Smaug1
@Smaug1 5 жыл бұрын
Wind protection on the lower legs and feet is the main difference. Fully-faired bikes can usually be ridden earlier in the spring and later in the fall. They also cost significantly more to insure and are significantly harder to work on. The first hour is spent gently removing all that plastic. On the other hand, SOME fully-faired bikes are easier to do basic maintenance on. For example, on this Bandit 1250, the oil filter is right between the exhaust headers. I can't think of a worse place for it. On the FJR1300, by comparison, it's on the side of the engine; very easy to get to, even though the bike is fully faired. (but FJRs are heavier yet and more expensive)

I uploaded this video simply to give my input on a motorcycle i had the chance to ride... and by u telling me what bike is good for the track vs the street is really just bs convo.. its either u like the video or you dont but keep in mind if you are not giving corrective criticism on how to make a video better u can keep it to yourself and let me kill myself riding supersports on the street... non the less thanks for checking out the video and engaging with it as well
