2016 Suzuki Sidekick 4x4 Off Road Weekend:

Spring of 2016 off road adventure. we had a great weekend. my zuk broke a cv axle so it cut my trip short.

DO 1 of the sidekik have locking diff front and rear, they seem to be soo capable, not spinning on places where 1 tire leaves hanging without traction, so I would guess they have locking diffs all round, or at least rear?

Smita the red 4 door with black hood has a rear locker. In this video, I believe the black 2 door may have the Lincoln locker, not sure if it was still in it.

Cool, I remember when I saw the video, that one of the two seemed to have lock, because it did good on places where some wheels are hanging with no traction at all. The one that broke the CV axle seemed to have open diffs. In Europe it was always a Vitara, and we had Sidekick, where in the US it was Geo Tracker or Suzuki Sidekick, then next Generation it was a Vitara in the US also. After the first small 2 door Vitara we had(Sidekick like these 2), we had the next one 2002 Grand Vitara V6, very good engine on low range the V6, capable, but I always had problems with the open diffs. Why didn't they make it with a read LSD, it would have been one of the very capable off road 4x4's from the factory. Then strangely they stole it in great conditions, nice brand new Toyo Open Country A/T's, and we needed a more highway capable, still off road capabilities machine, so we got a Forester III. It is better off road then all other AWD cars, with higher clearance, because these are not real of roaders, we know that. All new SUV's are just cars with higher clearance, AWD, and independent suspension, like a regular car.

are these automatics or manual 5- speeds ? do the automatics hold up ? I am looking at buying an 98 automatic 4x4 but wondering if the trannys hold up, Thanx !!

The autos are better in the zuk in my opinion and im all for manuals.
