Nice Atrac is an amazing feature tires look a bit over 20PSI though I keep mine around 15

Yes they were full pressure in this video. I plan to deflate a bit and try this again. With and without A-Trac. So far I either go down to 18 or 25. I run 34 on road. That's the pressure in this video. As of now I'm still factory suspension and while I do have all terrain tires they are stock size. I do plan to change all this but may be a while. Its all expensive. I have been off-road a couple times since this and not once have I used A-Trac. I don't have rear locker as when I bought this vehicle off-roading wasn't the goal. The original plan was to get to cave entrances. Sometimes they are down mild jeep trails or in a cattle field. I bought this for the 3rd row seat in a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Off-road is becoming an added bonus that I'm loving.

WTF? A-trac was not needed on that "hill".

What suspension setup?
@adventureunderground22342 жыл бұрын
The 4Runner is a pretty capable vehicle even being an SR5. As of now my suspension is full factory. If anything I've a little because of the front recovery bumper and winch (both installed after this video). Everyone wants the "cool" looking mods first AKA a lift. With the factory suspension I can still do some nice trails. So my first focuses are recovery if I do get stuck, and next will be under protection. That will make me loose even more clearance. Mods are coming way slower than I hoped for. Everything is so expensive.

What kind of roof rack do you have?
@adventureunderground22343 жыл бұрын
This is a FrontRunner. I chose this because FrontRunner and K9 are the top 2 brands. They're all aluminum so their lighter and wont be rusting on my roof. I chose the FrontRunner because the direction of the slats. They go across sideways where K9 runs length wise with the vehicle. Just seems stronger to me with the shorter slats. I've stood on top. I weigh 200 pounds. Only thing I'm not happy with is the hardware ( bolts ). FrontRunner website says all aluminum and stainless steel construction. The bolts are rusting. I contacted them and they sent replacement bolts but informed me the hardware is NOT stainless steel.... To me this is false advertisement. I'm not going to put the bolts they sent me. I have bought all stainless steel bolts and when I change them its going to that. I plan this to be a future video. BUT, as of right now I'm about 6 months behind editing other stuff. I have a CB radio install and I also now have a Southern Style front bumper and winch and light bar. All going to be videos when I get the chance to edit. So, subscribe and keep an eye out for these. I'm currently working on a couple hiking videos. Oh, This is a 3/4 rack. I bought 3/4 because I didn't want to drill in my roof for the full length. When I take it off to re-do the bolts.. I'm torn if I want to stay 3/4 or turn it into full length.

When I was a kid my Dad’s old 2wd 77’ Chevy woulda made it up that little hill with zero issue.
@adventureunderground22343 жыл бұрын
Possibly. I think the hill is a little steeper than it looks. You can stand on it and reach out and touch this hill in front of you. I tried this in a 4 wheel drive pick-up years ago and rear bumper dug in the ground so hard the rear wheels about off the ground and the fronts were just spinning. That truck was too long and would have high centered anyway. I had a Grand Cherokee that climbed this with no problems long ago too. I'm going to try this hill again airing down my tires and not using A-Trac. I was also told to try a different line but with the trees theres not much options.

That 4runner would make it up in 4HI easily. I dont thing the okd chevy will make it up without momentum
