I've had my Tundra for about 10 years, and even though I love it, 4Runners have always caught my eye. I've been thinking of upgrading, and since Toyota has always been good to me, they're who I plan on staying with. I'm not a fan of the new Tundra's, but I do like the new Tacoma's. However, the 4Runners just look amazing, perform fantastic, and people swear by them. After your in-depth review, I really want to go try it out for myself. Thanks for the info.

The TRD Pro 4runner is a beast! Wish I got this 4runner instead but my 15' 4runner limited is a beast too! The only thing I wish Toyota would do is put a automatic close function for the back door so it would close by itself. Other than that, my 4runner is perfect!!!

Great video. Thank you. You have a new subscriber. I just wonder why didn't they add the same options as the limited.. I mean the TRD is suppose to be the sporty version so a push to start would have been really great and the Toyota neon lights would have also been great what about the seat it only heats up the seats while the 4runner Limited has both cooling and heating seats a lot of options that can be added to the TRD.

Hey Mike great review and thanks for posting up. This is the only vehicle I'd even consider upgrading from my '07 FJ Cruiser which I've owned since '06. Sparks Toyota is a great dealership with a online parts department bar none. I have ordered from Sparks many times since I've owned my rig. BTW, getting back to the subject, I was surprised looking @ the new car sticker @ 04:56 the option for KDSS was not listed. That would be a deal breaker for me. Do you know how much that option would be on top of that 43K price?

Aside from why the Runner can't seem to get more hp/torque out of a very beefy 4.0L engine, it's an amazing car all round, great 4x4, used the hill ascend and descend, a true locking diff with a bunch of features that make driving it in challenging terrain "fun" . I own the 2015 4 Runner Limited, it feels great on the road and responsive. My only complain is the low Torque (270) on a vehicle that's over 5k pounds. Personally I don't see how or why the engine can't put out 350 torque and HP from the v6 4.0L Toyota Engine.
@Clydeslope9 жыл бұрын
+aky19832001 Agree - I'm certain there's a lot of unlocked potential in that big block 6. Toyota chokes it off so it lasts longer (or so I theorize) at the expense of additional grunt.
@aky198320018 жыл бұрын
+Clydeslope I've been driving the 4runner now for a few months, and Im willing to beat my house that the truck is throttled back by software. At stoplights i've seen moments where I was able to somehow trick the car into thicking im desprite need of power, by gassing easing off and going pedal all the way down. I could have sworn It was making 340 to the wheels. I know what a 400hp car feels like and all I can say is that the big block v6 is very comfortable and spoiled even with its heavy body.
@fuckinmetal19827 жыл бұрын
Bro, i 100% agree with you and this is my main gripe with this vehicle. the engine is straight up anemic, there is no other way to describe it. you can get a V8 that puts out 400+ hp and 400+ torque and gets the same mpg. I really wish this engine had more performance and it would be a no-brainer!

Do the other non-PRO models have an option for dual zone climate control? I know you can't get a sun roof with the PRO model. We are looking to buy one, mostly for the wife but I want the PRO for my own personal reasons for fun. Just need to figure out the best model for both our wants. I like the Limited options in the interior, but hate how the grill looks.
@movindirt78619 жыл бұрын
yes, I have a '15 limited with dual climate control. I also compared the trd pro vs. the limited when I purchased mine and the limited was just a little more but you get so much more vehicle for just a few extra bucks. coming from my third fj cruiser I really loved the aggressive stance of the trd pro but the practical side of me won and I purchased the limited. it's definitely fancier than the trd pro, but i'm not convinced it rides better, give the 20" rims and low pro tires. I would think the setup on the trd pro would lend it to ride much better. I would recommend driving both and then making a decision. most importantly is keeping the wife happy! good luck!

Hey great video, thank you for putting this up. Can you, or anyone comment on the *ride quality* and difference between this model and an SR5? I've heard buzz that this one also has better ride quality because of different suspension - as in, it handles better both ON and OFF road. I don't need any of the fancy crawl control stuff, as my offroading is usually just campgrounds which the SR5 would easily handle, but for an improved ride and appearance this may still be a good option. Just curious. Thanks!

I love these rigs, but that is pretty much the worst place to keep a spare tyre especially if heading off road. Guarantee the tyre and rim would get damaged. Would have to buy a rear bar swing away holder and they are not cheap. They should have mounted the spare at the rear. Apart from that I love them.
