Excellent instructions and video. Appreciate no kooky and unnecessary background music. Thanks.

Yup that's exactly how it worked. It took me about as long as the video was to complete the job. Thanks for the tutorial.

I just took out the 5 screws and the whole thing dropped out. No fighting pins because the one by the door is the hardest.

Thank you sir! second time i've reviewed your video for this job! Just finished oil change, fuel filters... now cabin air filter, lube the hinges and call it a day!

I don't know how you got that last pin out of there. There are no fingers small enough. I took out the 5 screws and dropped the whole assembly as well. I even had to take off the fuse assembly to get the filter in. My replacement filter was a lot stiffer and not as flimsy as the original Nissan filter. Thanks for posting, though.

I agree with the very right pin was very difficult to access on my 2017 SL. Not impossible though. I used a screw driver to push it out and was able to get my fingers up in there to push it back in. I couldn't get the right side of the filter panel completely off either. But, was able to pull the old filter out with a pick. The new filter(s) that I got on line, was two filters that put together, was the same size as the one old one. That made putting them in easy. Hooking up the tether was a little difficult. If you reach underneath, you can slide the tether mechanism button to the right, to give yourself some slack and slightly close the glove box, to attach the looped end to the hook. This job took me about a 1/2 HR to complete. This video was very helpful for the basics.

As a lube tech who has done 1000+ cabins before, I thank you. The clips on the bottom was a new one for me 😂

Lots of vehicles use those retainer pins for example 2010-2016 ford explorers all have them

The 2020 Titan SV has an airbag under the glovebox door, preventing access to the hinge pins...
@stephenwalsh19674 жыл бұрын
Its much easier just to remove the 5 screws and take the whole panel out had mine done in like 10 minutes total !
@rondadams3 жыл бұрын
This is the way to do it. I wound up braking the right most plastic piece on the glove box because I could find or get the pin out. After I removed all the screws and pulled it all out I glued the broken piece back on. They sure don’t make this easy. I don’t understand why people who design cars make these kind of things so freaking difficult. It’s just asinine and rude.

My 2020 Does not look like this. Anyone have a video for a 2020-2021?
@carlh95062 жыл бұрын
Not applied to 2020 Titan Platinum Reserve. Knee airbag is under the box. Removing the five bolts is the only way to replace the cabin air filter or even wire a dash camera to the fuse box.

Any tricks on getting that 3rd pin in? The one closest to the door. I cannot get that back in for the life of me
@Dennco20002 жыл бұрын
Remove the 5 screw (3 up top and 2 below) and reassemble the glovebox then never do it that way again. 5 screws 5 minutes LOL
@Mmmm_Cows Жыл бұрын
Tried this first time, pin closest to door flew in behind kick panel. Had to remove kick panel to get it back.. Remove 5 screws with bit on drill. Much easier.

Does anyone else have problems with the a/c blowing humid air at a stop? I’ve taking my truck to the dealer 3 times an they can’t find the problem. 2018 sv

My friend and I have titans and his was having the same issue that you are having and they were able to fix it at the dealership so my advice to you it's to take it to a different dealership!
@joessrt83 жыл бұрын
Theres a TSB about that. Nissan had to replace some kind of driver side door actuator to get it to blow cold air correctly.

Easier way to do this is to remove the 5 screws that hold the glove box assy to the dash. You do not have to fight the pins, nor the retainer cable. Just did mine in less than 5 minutes.

This didnt work for me on my 2017. Couldnt get to far right pin, couldnt release the far right snap on filter cover because its so far over, the tether mechanisim came off when reappling tether to plastic hook. I should have all the comments below first.

This advice only works if you have tiny hands. No way in hell is my hand or finger even getting close to that 3rs pin.
@philatomic53804 күн бұрын
It is a nightmare to remove the 3rd pin closest to the door! Nissan...this is shamefully absurd!. I removed the glove box. Then I used the torx bit to remove the 5 screws for the deco panel. Turned it upside down and drilled a small oblong 1/4" wide hole directly below where the in sits and reinstalled everything. No more issues. Isn't seen because it faces down. Shove a flathead in there and pry it lose as you can see it now. Crazy stupid design just to change a cabin filter...and no, I won't be paying a dealer anytime soon.

Just remove the 5 screws...... You'll never get the 3rd hinge pin back in. 5 screws 5 minutes - hinge pins all day LMAO.
