One of the best and most professionally done car reviews, I've ever seen. Shot in one take. Good job sir.

We have a high quality standard at the plant that blows our competition away. I know because we did an audit on two of our competitors as if we were doing it to our own car and the quality difference was huge. The Passat comes standard with a backup camera and standard aluminum alloy wheels and a 12 year corrosion free warranty I know because it is my job to provide that warranty and we take pride in building this car.

If VWoA would offer a wagon/variant/estate, as VW of Europe does, we would be keenly interested. The best car we have ever owned is our 2001 Passat wagon. We plan to keep it as long as we reasonably can, but if we had to replace it tomorrow, our short list of candidates includes the smaller (possibly too small) Golf Sportwagen, Volvo V60, BMW 3 wagon. Hell, we can't even get the Audi A4 wagon stateside any more.

Zachary York... Now if VW would just replace that POS infotainment systems they're using in all of their car. That is really my only complaint about my Passat (even my wife's KIA has a better system)

My family is the proud owner of a 2017 SEL Premium TSI in Fortana Red. Best overall car we’ve ever had! I’m curious, what position do you have at the plant? Thanks for building a fantastic car!

I have a 2014 SE w/roof 1.8 EA888 with 133,409 miles with 6 speed tiptronic new . Had 7 VW's including a new 2011 GTI w/DSG, Fords, Honda. This Passat is by far the finest , most reliable car I've ever owned. It's ABSOLUTELY SQUEAK AND RATTLE free FREE even TODAY! Original plugs and coils still. I use BG MOA, EPR, and 44K. Master VW tech from Poland said they're fine. Original rear brakes replaced at 110, 000 miles I replace my cabin and engine filter myself as needed. Did tranmission fluid, gasket and screen twice at VW (Master tech only) Coolant flushes twice Brake fluid change twice Replaced drivers wiper blade at 110,000 when rear brakes replaced I don't beat this car and when you learn how to finesse the turbo with throttle control, its performs beyond expectation. You don't just STOMP on it to for maximum performance. Zero mechanical problems other than power window "one touch" feature has to be held down now on two switches. Takata airbag recall done Rear mail seal recall done Paid off and runs like new. A fine piece of machinery that for my money in 2014, blows away, Honda, Toyota. This car is not a tin can on wheels, it's built with obvious quality that continues to impress me after 133,409 miles! Cruise control 72mph to VA. Beach from NJ mpg 42 mpg! Use BG products to minimum carbon build up on top of intake/exhaust valves. My VW tech said he thinks the BG products are excellent. Congrats to you and the factory workers in Chattanooga for building quality machinery. IMO nothing comes close in value and quality.

You are usually a tough reviewer, so the fact that you like the Passat says a lot about the car. As of Sept. 7th, 2016, my local dealer is selling the base Passat for just $18,000. If I needed a new car, that would tempt me. I hope the reliability issues have been solved because I do like the conservative looks. Honda and Toyota could learn something about interior design from Volkswagen.

I have owned alphabetically these brands. BMW x3, 325, Chevrolet, Ford mondeo aka fusion, Honda civic, Accord, Pontiac vibe, Toyota crecida, corolla, crown, Land Rover defender, discovery, range rover, Fiat 600, 125, coupe, Peugeot 306 wagon. Nissan centra, altima, audi a4 avant, volvo s40, v50, Mercedes E class diesel. From all of these cards. My vw small rabbit truck was awesome. The 2005.5 jetta German made was great, 2013 tiguan. Amazing motor. Plus I had a manual transmission! 2012 passat very solid car. Not a look at me car. That's me for Japanese cars. My son was very happy with the new purchase of the 2016 se, technology package and lighting package. I get complements from people. His review is honest and Accord with other car reviews. Good job!!!

I totally agree with your overlooked statement. I had a 2014 1.8T SEL, I loved it. But I had to go back to my CC. This is a great car for people that don't want to follow the crowd.

Marko Niketich I had zero issues with the VW vehicles. My issues with the four VW I once owned, is and was the extremely high cost of ownership. And rude service departments. I experienced that is NC, TX, and GA.

Great Review, I enjoy your insight on this review. Your reviews feel more real. Living in Los Angeles you understand what is important for the driving experience in traffic and a family hauler. I have been shopping for this car, but it look like this car is not over looked as I have called multiple VW dealership in LA and none are even giving me the time of day to return a price. I feel like the car industry is changing in way of car sales now a days. You should do a video on car buying in Los Angeles.

i think varying the combinaton of options drive up manufacturing costs...I know honda tries to limit how many combinations you can have to keep manufacturing costs low

I like your reviews except that the camera is put so close to the driver. It's annoying. I want to see the ultra wide angle of the interior, as most car review videos do, not the driver.

does the kia cadenza or this have better rear leg space?
@harissabovic3977

This has way more leg space, I've checked out both and the Passat for sure has the best leg room.

You say it drives like a german them say it drives like a buick and whallows. Okay not clear. Also in a vaccum its an okay mid size sedan. Drive a Malibu, Camry, Accord, or even Optima and tell me the Passat has a better drive or interior.
@Stanger182
@Stanger182 8 жыл бұрын
I caught that as well. Watch his review on the accord. He rips apart on minor design "oversights"...but this car seems to be angelic to him. After driven both on 2 test drives each, I can tell you that this car is in no way a threat to the accords benchmark.

Hahaha.. Have you ever owned a VW?

He explained exactly what he meant by saying it drove like a Buick. And yeah, I would put the Passat up against any of those vehicles for driving dynamics or interior quality. I get the feeling you haven't actually been inside of or driven any of the vehicles you mentioned recently. I've been in all of them, in fact I'm driving the Camry now, and the choice was obvious to me. A Chevy with a better interior than a Volkwagen? Please.

I owned an Optima for about a year and traded it in for a Passat R-Line. The Passat is a much smoother ride and the interior is an upgrade.

I had a lot of respect for this guys reviews before I just watched the 2016 accord and this one back to back. Now, I have very little confidence this dufus knows a damn thing about cars. I understand it's about opinions, but there are many obvious reasons why this car doesn't sell well. One has to wonder if you got a kick back from VW...
