2016 Wrangler Front Speaker Install

Installing mopar kicker speaker upgrade in my 2016 Jeep Wrangler.

Thank you! Everything can be done using 7mm and 10mm sockets (all are 7mm besides the large one holding the speaker container in place), a phillips head for the speakers themselves, and a flathead to pry off the side panel. I had a ratchet and a drill, and a socket adapter for the drill to speed things up. I did both sides alone and it wasn't too bad with the right tools. Honestly if I had to do this again I could do each side in 15-20 minutes.

Thanks for the tips. Just did this. Box is definitely a lot bigger than you would think by looking. Using a component set so have a cross over to deal with. Kind of wishing I just got the kicker ones.

Great choice with the Hydro Blue Metallic paint! If I didn't choose Gecko thats the color I would have gotten. I upgraded my sound bar speakers with the Kickers and am installing the fronts now! Great video

I will suggest to put Polly feel in your speaker boxes to give you a total better sound even your overhead box also, take a old pillow that has Polly feel it....

Definitely doesn't help that you're a BIG man, Hoss!!! The other thing is the great design work by Jeep's engineers. Let's not make it so the perforated plastic covers can be taken off by removing 3 or 4 torx screws. Nope, let's make it so half of the vehicle needs to be disassembled to get at them. But, good job, especially with those meat hooks of yours.

Damn what a pain in the ass for 2 speakers. Why the fk wouldn't they just make the speaker with a panel that pops off so you don't have to pull the whole pod out with half the dash ripped apart..

I installed an ILX-w650 and a KTA-450 amplifier and took the entire dash apart. I love this video, but I think I still have to take the dash apart again :( I forgot to check my amplifier settings and I want to move the deck up just a bit and replace the stock speakers with Polk DB652's. Next time though, totally using this method.

When you unstrap the door it swings into the cowl and the mirror dents it ,I'm loosing my mind watching this happen .But thanks for the video ..

There is a really inexpensive cowl protector that you can install to protect them. You can also just be really careful but they look kinda badass so I put them on, now I don't have to worry about it.

Slightly. 07-10 has the old style JK dash but it is similar. Remove the same panels and loosen the same ones too.
