Great video ...Do do all short stacks in the air box make a difference? I did some lsr with my hayabusa,but never tried them. I still have the stacks.
@raceaddict32127 жыл бұрын
300zxdriver yes. I was given this knowledge and secret from an ex landspeed racer and still to this day a record holder of certain classes and also this trick for the hayabusa has been on brocks website for many years. And the way it was explained time is that it changes the overall airbox pressure which was shown on a datalogger and also reduces incoming air turbulence which also enhances the performance. So while you may not see a significant gain on a dyno you will notice a difference on the street or track in real world scenarios being that the ram air from street to dyno is very different so on a dyno it may not reflect the same..180+mph of real ram air is far different from those fans in a dyno room.. I've also done this to my 08 gixxer 1000 and have had success as well.
@raceaddict32127 жыл бұрын
300zxdriver now on the flipside for heavier riders I'd leave them stock because you can definitely tell the midrange and low end strength is reduced and my friends that are approaching 300 lbs and above they benefit from stock stacks to have the tq help pull them along..if your under 250lbs then go all short stacks..

Nice video man.....question for you Raceaddict, i bought a stock zx10r 2016 same color as your friend on your video. I also have a 2011 s1000rr bone stock. We did a couple pulls yesterday, i (200lbs) was on the bimmer, my son (145lbs) on my zx10r and i killed him so bad dude that i was depress about the difference. Today i ordered a M4 Slayer slip-on, the bike is gonna be flashed next week and my question is, do i need to changed the gear size?
@raceaddict32127 жыл бұрын
twowheelsonly dam I'm actually selling a near new m4 black exhaust for this bike, only was ridden for 100 miles or so.. not a scratch on it.. it's on my instagram page and if interested I'll ship to u if your in the united states and I'm asking 250 bucks.. my instagram page is the same as my KZbin channel, let me know if u want a 3 day old new looking pipe for way less money.. anyways... yes the results you saw was normal..first you have to know for sure if your son is as capable of a rider as you because if he's scared of it or if he's not using the quickshifter or anything like that then he will lose to a 600 regardless of if he's on a 1000.. if u have full confidence in his skills and that's not an area in question then next it's all mathematics.. your s1000rr stock depending on what dyno usually makes between 175 to as high as 185whp especially broken in since it has some miles on it from being a 2011.. your new zx10 will only make mid 160s before it's flashed and having a tight new engine thats not fully broken in.. it's very important to know that the modern Japanese bikes have to be restricted in a number of ways from the manufacture before being shipped to the U.S. where as the BMW being German does not have the same standards.. the BMW is pretty much near tapped out as far as power from what the electronics are allowing. when you flash the zx10 you will be removing the restrictions that are place on it from the exhaust pipe valve, intake air flapper valve, electronic butterfly openings and fuelimg and timing changes that drasticlu reduce the power of the gen 5 and your gen 5 zx10.. Gen 1-3 were not affected by these restrictions..the other gens with a flash and tune and full exhaust, velocity stacks and race air filters will only make mid 160 whp and maybe touch 170.. with just a slip on and flash with a good map in the zx10 to accommodate your pipe the 2016 zx10 will make over 190whp..even with your stock exhaust and a flash you'll stomp your bmw.. I have only have personal experience with guhl motors ecu flash for the zx10 so I recommend sending your ecu to him..all 3 bikes we've done by him are 200+mph capable with GPS proof.. he also enables the auto blip downshifts so u can downshift with no clutch and it rev matches for u.. and he's the only person offering the onboard diagnostic feature in the flash so if if ever get a check engine light u can clear the code on the bike and not need the dealer Kawasaki tool..and yes to achieve 200mph on this bike you will need to go down 2 teeth on the rear sprocket.. but first just enjoy stock gearing see how you like it.. it still will do 190 real GPS mph after the flash..which is plenty fast for most and brutal acceleration.. please watch brocks performances latest video about the new GSXR 1000 and he goes into great detail about the modern bikes restrictions and it will explain all of what I said perfectly and with visuals....domt worry.. your zx10 is rediculous once unrestricted.. I'm certain areas of the powerband like at 12k rpms to 14k you'll gain around 40whp.. even flashing the BMW will not get anywhere close to those gains because it's not really restricted. it's fast out of the box from already being unrestricted from different import guidelines
@frankpoupou17 жыл бұрын
Thx alot for the answer dude....first, yes he was using the quick shifter, we were pulling at 9000rpm on tthe zx10 to make sure that the bike wasn't to low. we do alot of quater mile runs and roll on.......so this way he's a really good driver. Again, last night we did the same thing, but this time i was on the zx10 and it was horrible! no traction control on, engine breaking or things like that, he gave me the hit and then he passed me like if i was on a harley. Believe me, we have a lot of experience with this type of motorcycle, zx14, busa ect.....but honestly, Never I would have imagined that there would be such a big difference at this point between these 2 motorcycles. I just sold my 2013 zx14r and with a flash only, air filter, slip-on, I just sold my zx14 and with a flash only and an air filter against the bmw. Now for the m4, unfortunately, I placed the drive yesterday afternoon on ebay .... having known I would have bought yours. my bike will be flashed next weekend so will see. Thx again for your time, Really appreciated.

@raceaddict32127 жыл бұрын
twowheelsonly if you look at a bone stock 2016 zx10 on a dyno as u reach the last 3000 rpms or so the power takes a huge nosedive due to the throttle blades closing over 30 percent and whp ends up in the 140s.. a 2003 GSXR 1000 makes that much power at peak so essentially an old Gixxer could beat the new zx10 stock for stock if the whole race was in the upper rpm range long enough so putting it up against an s1000rr is no contest.. until flashed that is.

@raceaddict32127 жыл бұрын
+Mr 299 2 down 2 up is way to aggressive for the street. there comes a point where u actually make yourself slower by gearing that way because u spend so much time shifting vs actually accelerating. even with an ecu flash with 500 rpms extension that bike will go no faster than 165mph on gps.. so it also depends on his type of riding.for street thats terrible gearing. if it's a dedicated drag strip bike than thats a bit different. but i still wouldnt even go that aggressive on the strip..also depends on his weight. if hes like 250+ lbs and drag races than leave it. if hes between 130-160lbs id do stock gearing honestly. 160-200 maybe a 1 down front or 1 down front and 1 down rear which is equivalent to like a 1.5 up rear ratio wise.. again it comes down to how u ride.. if he never goes above 170 mph (gps not guages)then no need for 200mph worth of gearing. some people just like occasional 2nd thru 4th gear roll races or dig runs for no more than a half mile.. that all determines your setup drastically. and most importantly if his bike is not ecu flashed that could be the reason he gears so crazy cuz that bike is super slow if u dont flash it. gen 4 zx10s are highly restricted in the ecu. if hes not flashed and then flashes it he will blaze thru his current gearing in no time and he'll need more top end for sure
@raceaddict32127 жыл бұрын

@@raceaddict3212 Ok bet. I understand that. You made some really good vids. I did have a question. Have you ever ran a 190/55/R17 on a busa?? You had told me to run a 180/55/R17 on my busa with a -1 upfront and a +1 in the rear.. Have you ever ran a -1 up front with a +2 in the rear along with a 190/55/R17 tire. Right now I'm still 17/43 with a 190/55/17. Gen 2
@raceaddict32125 жыл бұрын
@@Hayabusa-or2yo gearing and tire choice is a bit of a mad science thats very specific to rider, bikes aerodynamic setup and distance the rider plans to run..no i have never ran a 190/55 and never will.. the reason for that is id rather use sprockets for my mph increase instead of a tire thats larger and heavier which will now increase the rotational weight which is damaging to acceleration..if you have a 1 down front and stock rear and 500 extra rpms thru the ecu and 190/55 tire your bikes capable of about 203mph. So if your power and and aeros and weight is only capable of lets say 195 then your 8 mph overgeard with sluggish accelration so i would then gear the bike to be closer to the mph capability. For my busa it runs consistent 200mph in 9/10ths of a mile. Sometimes 199, sometimes 201 so i gear it to be near 200.. its actually geared for 203 becauae i have an e85 tune so i left 2mph on the table to meet 203 without running out of mph early. So with that being said id never put on a sprocket combination on the bike that will be good for 210 mph because my setup isnt efficient enough to go that fast so id be waiting acceleration all while still never reaching 210.. if i raced half mile id have a different ratio.. so it all depends on the bikes main usage.. im also 165lbs so if a guy had the same mods as me and bike setup identially but he weighs 250lbs he should not choose my sprocket combo as he wont go as fast so he needs more acceleration. I use the 180/55 tire on my busa because its 2.5 mph more than the stock 190/50 but its lighter so i gained top speed but ever ruined acceleration because i was mindfull about the overall weight of the tire. 190/55 tires are usually well over 1.5 lbs heavier than the same 180/55 tire which will be felt in acceleration.. plus a 190/55 addsabout 6.5 more mph over a 190/50 so ratio and weight wise calls for a sluggish pull compared to 180/55 or 190/50 even if u went up on rear sprocket to accomodate the tire ratio youve still added weight which is going in the wrong direction as is. hope that all made sense

Tq unfortunately takes a backseat to power to weight. Tq matters but peak wheel horsepower and the weight it has to carry is more effective.. lucky for the big bikes they have good aerodynamics which is what saves them even though there down in terms of power to weight ratio.

How does she ride with the black aluminum hard coat sprocket
@raceaddict32126 жыл бұрын
@@ridewithtouch3710 this one on the gen5 is actually not the hardcoat as vortex wont make the 37r in hardcoat. So this is the standard Cat5 aluminum sprocket which has no signs of wear till this day and is about 1lb lighter than stock steel and is very reliable. Prostreet 600+ hp drag bikes use these sprockets also.. they will last many years on the street if your chain is maintained and alignment is correct.

You mentioned that you're dropping the rear sprocket by two teeth, have you thought about just adding a one tooth bigger sprocket on the front instead, that's what I'm doing on the zx10rr.
@raceaddict32127 жыл бұрын
Michael Fedkiw yes in this run the rear sprocket was dropped 2 teeth just hours before the race. doesent sound like much but 2 teeth in rear is slightly less aggressive than 1 in front..the goal was 200 and 2 teeth in the rear puts us at 200mph top speed even with our current rpm increase of 500 over, if we would have chosen 1 up in front then that wouldve gave us a top speed of around 202.5 or so which wouldve made our acceleration that much slower, next reason why is we like going smaller in sprockets because there lighter for rotational weight savings. 2 down rear makes us save weight and adds some wheelbase to help with low gear wheelies since the sprocket is physically smaller creating more chain slack from stock gear so we can push the wheel back another 3/8ths of an inch or so. we also have found that zx10s feel very rough when u use a front sprocket that doesn't have the oem rubberized dampner that surrounds the sprocket that the chain rides over and it makes the bike smooth and quiet. and aftermarket front 18 tooth sprocket will be full steel with no rubber..
@mikefedkiw7 жыл бұрын
Okay, you win...maybe! That was a lot of good information and you may have talked me out of the larger front sprocket if for no other reason, the rubber cushioning and also the less rotational mass of a smaller rear sprocket. My zx10rr came with Marchesini wheels that at least look lighter so that might help. Just today I yanked out the internal gear cassettes and I'm sending them out to be race cut and micro polished. From what I've read the polishing will help with drive line loss, plus make the shifting really smooth. It is kinda sad seeing the thing all apart in pieces without even having one mile on it but it does make for a clean bike to work on anyway, LOL BTW, where did you wind up getting the 2 teeth less sprocket from and is it a steel sprocket?
@raceaddict32127 жыл бұрын
Michael Fedkiw dam i don't have the guts to tear down a brand new engine with 1 mile on it just for race cut gears lol. i woulda waited till they started to pop outta gear or some other malfunction.. but anyway the sprocket is from vortex and its aluminum.. we ordered 2 sprockets. we are still waiting on the vortex all black hardcoat aluminum which is way stronger than what we have on it now but it takes even longer for them to make that one because they make large batches at a time and not just a few..
@mikefedkiw7 жыл бұрын
Yea, my initial intention was just adding three stiffer springs to the clutch, but once I got into it I just kept going. It's still top damn cold around here for my sissy ass to be out on the bike anyway. And... I was kinda hoping that you were going say anything but vortex. I hate the way they cut that miserable ass design into all their sprockets.
@raceaddict32127 жыл бұрын
Michael Fedkiw yea that's why we ordered the all black aluminum hardcoat. it looks really sharp in all black instead of looking at those bright silver shark fin blades type of design. i know exactly what u mean.

what sproket size on busa ?
@raceaddict32127 жыл бұрын
Raul Rodriguez 17-42 so that's a 1 down front and 1 down rear equivalent to doing a 1.5 up rear if that was possible.. so slightly more acceleration than stock to help with my weight but at the same time adding wheelbase since both gears are smaller.. it added about a half inch stretch by doing it that way.. good for 200.5 mph with 450 over rpm extention..

how is the zx10r maken almost as much WHP as the zx14 and more WHP then the Busa an its on c85. sumthin ain't rite both those bike hav what 300 cc more an thea heavier. power to weight ratio id dat the bigger bikes are a waist
@raceaddict32126 жыл бұрын
Frankie Bars good question.. the CCs of the big bikes dont have a direct relationship to hp.. what most dont realize is the tq.. sure the zx10 makes more HP than the busa and almost as much as the 14 which gives the zx10 a better power to weight ratio but on the flipside u have tq to weight which is what keeps the big bikes in the game along with better aerodynamics than the 1000.. so while the zx10 has about 83 lbs of tq the busa makes about 111 for tq and the zx14r makes about 116 ft lbs of tq. So CCs makes tq in those bikes. Not so much about hp. So now when tq is calculated now we can see what advantages the extra CCs has.
@frankiebars43126 жыл бұрын
raceaddict321 good way of explaining that. i do kno the bigger bikes make more torque jus didn't think it made that much of a difference. the bigger bikes hav more on the top end to dnt they?
@raceaddict32126 жыл бұрын
Frankie Bars well the top end acceleration is not because of power but mostly aerodynamics..the much higher tq does help also especially when u have that kind of a load against u. (Weight plus high frontal winds from alot of mph..) so the 1000s mainly are using there high hp advantage to get good performance because they need more power to help push thru wind when they have less efficient aerodynamics than say a busa for example. Theres a landspeed racer named Greg Neil who has the fastest ninja 600. His bike has gone over 190mph in the mile but makes less than 130hp.. so how does it do it? All aerodynamics mods. The detail is in the fairings and fender and ride height and windscreen amongst other small things to make advantages for yourself.

Top speed isn't everything for superbikes and hyperbikes, because a bone stock S1000RR won a three way drag race from a dig start beating lamborghini aventador and bugatti veyron vitesse. Top speed thing is better on cars, but not acceleration tho :)
@raceaddict32127 жыл бұрын
I help anytime this isnt a top speed run. We dont do top speed runs. This is a specific distance based run where e.t is the goal. So like a longer distance drag race to the finish. We mention speed as a reference but not the whole idea. These runs are exactly 9/10ths of a mile. If we did top speed we would go alot longer till the bikes hit the limiter amd gear bigger but thats not the race we do..

@davidstancu29636 жыл бұрын
Zx10 should be killing you guys, bike itself weighs 100lbs less, rider is a feather and it makes similar power.
@raceaddict32126 жыл бұрын
David Stancu thanks for watching along with your input. But theres more to it than that.. power to weight ratio definitely goes to the zx10r when u combine bike and rider weight combo.. but alot of people never calculate torque to weight which is in the busa and zx14Rs favor by a bigger margin than the advantage in power to weight of the zx10r.. next you have aerodynamics which isnt even comparable on any 1000 vs a busa.. aerodynamics is the only thing that made this race that close. Because if this was another 1000 that just happened to be 100 lbs heavier it wouldve been an entirely different outcome. Aeros always supercedes hp in longer races. This was a 9/10ths of a mile race and notice how at say the 1/8th mile mark the bigger bikes were ahead (tq) by the 1/4 mile mark or 2.5/10ths the zx10 was pulling away (hp to weight). And at the 5/10ths mark the zx10 was killing the big bikes(hp to weight again) but from half mile and beyond its an aeros game because at the half mile were both traveling just over 180mph so now 180+mph worth of wind is affecting the zx10 more than it is the busa plus the tq of the busa helps it push thru the wind as well with less effort (110ft lbs of tq vs 82 ft lbs for the zx10) so yes the zx10 makes similiar hp as the busa but the tq is far different.. trust me we study the way these bikes perform and have many scenarios and numbers written down in mathematical breakdowns.. but again i appreciate your comment and watch my other vids with other racing scenarios and different bike combos. I have one vid of when i put a 130lb rider on my busa on pump gas and race the same zx10 and rider and the outcome was as i predicted.. it takes about 15 more whp and 6ft lbs of tq to equal the power and tq to weight ratio of a rider thats 40 lbs lighter.. interesting stuff.

Busas and ZX14s are the ugliest fuckin bikes
@raceaddict32127 жыл бұрын
Mr Arkatek lol matter of opinion my friend.. i think the main problem is most people are comparing them to regular sized sportbikes so when u notice they dont have the girlish figure of 600s-1000s then they appear out of place with the wrong lines. But there meant to be fat and ugly from there purpose which is high speeds from superior aerodynamics plus having rider and passenger comfort as well.. and to be honest i love all sportbikes but every one of them if u look at them close enough looks like some some of alien insect. Mirrors look like antennas, headlights are either alien looking from a single light design or bug eyed from dual light designs, and the pointy tails look like a wasp butt or a stinger of some kind. There all ugly lol.. but u gotta love em..
