Today I will be showing you a really cool aftermarket upgrade for your 5th generation Honda CRV. This especially applies to the LX model with the base radio. I am installing and going over the features of a Joying JY-HO123N4GS Android 8.1.0 Plug And Play Car Entertainment System for all 2017 and up Honda CRV's. Thank you for the video. Recently purchased one for my 2020 CRV LX and works perfectly easy to install. One thing to say is that the built in mic is not good at all when driving. Way too much noise. You can install the one that comes in the box and the wire is long enough to place it on the factory location for the oem mic.

Thanks so much for sharing this video. Not much on head unit replacement and wiring on a newer CRV LX. I’m also interested in upgrading my 2019 CRV LX. I was looking at a couple of units at Crutchfield and they telling me they don’t make a steering wheel interface but I found one that was validated to work with aftermarket radios such as an Alpine or Kenwood. The interface, if anyone is interested is ...Scosche® LHA20. Civic and CRV LX only.

So today I was sitting at a red light listening to the radio when the sound started fading out. It eventually went silent. I tried changing the station, switching to CarPlay and trying to listen to Music. Nothing worked. Any clue how to fix that? I turned the car off. Waited a minute and turned everything back on. Still silent. After waiting four hours, I turned everything back on and it worked again. Joying hasn’t offered any suggestions yet.

It has its own microphone. It does not use the built in mic. It works great. Noone has complained about the audio quality.

It does not void the warranty so long as it does not cause damage to a system in your car. Look up the Magnuson-Moss Act for more info.

I can't remember the wire color, but it all just plugged in and worked with no issues at all. Yes, Apple carplay is part of the zlink app and works very well. I use it daily.

Harness 2 will work on the LX and it's available via prime. Technically you don't need harness 2 but each kit includes all harness versions. Not sure why they specify the difference.

If you have a base model LX then this is a huge upgrade. If you have a EX or above it is not as much of an upgrade

Hello...how have you been finding the gps navigation to work...is it picking up location services through the antenna you placed under the dash or just by being mated with your cell phone mirrored onto the screen? In other words can you get google maps on the new radio without your cell phone turned on and using data time?

Yes you can but you need a data connection for Google maps unless you previously downloaded offline maps for the area you are in

Neither of them are super excellent sound quality. The external one is better. It's not hard to install and if you do any Bluetooth calling often you probably should use it.

I assumed this was an official Honda unit. This one is much better looking than the Honda version! Do the backup lines move with the angle of the steering wheel to provide predictive backup guidance? Also does it have HD Radio?

It does NOT have HD radio. The lines do move with the steering wheel to show your path. The stereo sounds is excellent, even without the HD radio.

I have not tried this feature. So I can't comment. I know that it does support Google voice commands but haven't tested that specific feature yet. I do not use Bluetooth calling.

I think it is an excellent unit and works great still to this day. I think some people have unrealistic expectations. It works just as good, if not better than any aftermarket stereo I have ever used including Kenwood, Pioneer, etc.

I do not need my phone but Google maps is hard to beat by any navigation. But you can run Google maps if you have a Wi-Fi connection or you can use Android auto or Apple carplay without a Wi-Fi connection. With this setup the options are limitless

It could do that but in my experience it just makes it stick harder.

If you have a base model LX with the small screen stereo, you need harness A. Which should be harness 1. But harness 1 or 2 should work.

Have you had any trouble with the time zone? I had a Chinese radio a couple years ago that was an hour off if I set it to my time zone which is Easter US/Canada, I would have to tell the radio I was in the Atlantic time zone.

Hi, You can purchase the radio at joyingauto.com I just installed mine 9n a 2018 Honda CR-V and radio works. Back up Camera works with just plugging Yellow RCA , and can control the Air Conditioner as well from the radio and a plus for the camera is the extra view , usually is 3 views for the camera. You should get this unit. This is the best on aftermarket radios.

@@sageRJRJ Did you watch the video? I have no problem answering your questions but most of these questions are answered in the video. It integrates seemlessly with the Honda canbus network. All steering wheel controls are working and plug and play over the canbus network. The reason I didn't use a Kenwood or Pioneer or something like that is because there is no dash kit that would make it look right or integrate into the factory electronics as nicely as this unit does. Also this unit has a very nice audio circuit. The sound is not as loud as a Pioneer but it sounds just as good. If you really needed more volume you could add aftermarket amplifiers.

No, I did not. I meant to before asking anything and I honestly forgot.. Finishing now. Thanks though - those were my exact worries with the name brand units and you confirmed them for me. Saved me a lot of time and headache.
