You need a Sprint Booster N280. It allow you to change the throttle getting a faster acceleration

KN filters come pre oiled... You won't need to oil it until after you clean it for the first time.

@@streetscene4803 did you have a tough time tightening the bolts to the rubber things? Im having a hell of a time! Also, the 5/8 vent fitting snapped like you. I didnt even tighten it all the way and then snap! oh well, what did K&N do for you? How did you get the old 5/8 threads out of the hole?

Anthony Woo I don’t think the rubber things ever were fully right. I remember they just kept spinning. And I called K&N and explained what happened and they sent me a new tube and new fitting. They were super easy to work with.

Curious, I was told by a mechanic that K&N filters are not advisable because the oil in the filter will get into the intake and gum it up with an oil film. My mechanic friend is professional racing engine builder. I always wonder if anyone else agrees or disagrees and has proof or can debunk this. Thoughts?

Eric Mayo I ran it for 40K miles and never had a problem. Did off road trips, off-road trips, cleaned it once a month, and never had a problem

You don't need a computer to tune the intake. Toyota is a VVT-I it changes air to fuel mixture on the fly as it needs.

Toyota has it programmed that it will only adapt the A/F mixture within a small range. To take full advantage of any intake you need a tune. As it is now, the computer doesn't even know what to do with the extra airflow

It is not restriction, its protection. It was designed with dust and dirtier air ingestion in mind. Sure you'll hear the engine more however you will ingest a lot more particulates if you do not keep the K&N properly oiled which you didn't even oil to begin with.

Javier Gonzalez it fell shortly after that. Looking back the distance traveled wasn’t far enough for a true reading. I ended up getting about 17.8. Now with the lift I’m getting 15

In summer I can get 20-21, but it is here in Knoxville TN, where you do not really do city driving. So it is more highway than city, and then the rule of getting to speed and then just feathering it, my RPMs very rarely goes over 2500, so normal driving - to work is in 1000-1500 range. In winter I drop to 17+, the cold starts just do not like this engine. General rule here is - This is not a sport car and it does not want to be driven that way, so if you are trying to keep with others - i.e. normal cars, than your MPG will show it, but then you probably need different car. Driving this car made me calmer and better person. :)

P. K. Haha it makes more noise and provides slightly better low end torque. I also noticed consistent power when climbing in elevation as well. I’m thinking about posting a 1 year review with it.

Elijah Covarrubio I think I spent about $280 on it. And nothing different to report after getting that part. All it was was a line to the crank case.

Cruz Deuce it won’t affect your warranty unless it breaks something directly. Like if your mass air flow sensor goes out then they may directly relate it to the intake. My fiancé has been running hers on her lanced for a year now with no issues at all.

No. Id say through the whole powerband I got more power. It's more noticeable at the top end than anything else but overall it seems more responsive

rafael miranda there’s a button on the right lower side of your steering wheel and I believe it says display on it, hold that down and it will reset. Hope this helps! 👍👍

Collin Trussell Intakes will change the exhaust note a little bit but the new noises come from the intake

i originally skipped past the first of the video where you stated you got a different camera. The new camera must have a much better mic. than a gopro so thats where the exhaust note difference is coming from. I have filmed inside of my T4R with a gopro and the exhaust notes are virtually non existent.
