I really want to see more aftermarket parts come out for this platform.

Next time you blow it up don't forget to send your front diff our way to get a sweet LSD retrofit :)

We will not wait until it blows up, just need the time and space to stash the car half apart 🤣

what is the suspension setup your running, I might be getting BC Racing BR series do you recommend them?

i have no experience with that so i couldn’t say. i’m on regular coilovers from H&R & aggressively aligned, nothing special in my setup

Aram, I found you while looking for content on the A4 B9 a few months back when I bought mine (used 46k mi). I have done some Winter Autocross ( super fun w Quattro!) but was planning to do some summer track stuff this coming season as well until I heard about your engine failure. I've been anxiously awaiting news about the oil starvation issue you had and what causes you may have found I wasn't sure if you had anyone look into the stock oil pan to see what if any they had for baffles or a windage tray. Sounds like you and your guys have taken a different approach though, looking into the pressure regulation and surge tank setup. If the ECU is what controls that pressure reduction its seems like it would have been a good idea for the factory to program the system to remain in the the high pressure mode wherever sport mode is engaged. I wonder if any of the the flash tune gurus out there could dig into the program and turn that on (or off, whichever way it works). I originally found your car from the "One Take" that was done. Though the video was good, I wish you could have gone into the chassis stiffening a bit more. Like what made you look in that direction in the first place? suspension mods are on most peoples lists but chassis stuff usually isn't. I know BMW guys add M chassis pieces to their non M cars to improve setup. Was there something you found on the S version of the B9 that made you look in that direction? Diving into the why and how might make for some good content. Cheers!

Hi Michael, I want to answer your questions efficiently so here goes. For the oil pan, Audi decided to go with a piece of plastic that has 0 baffling and no windage tray, it was designed around efficiency and cheaper replacement I guess. There are plans to have one fabricated with baffles/ potentially to include a windage tray which I’m sure we can can modify an availble option to make it work. 034Motorsport is actually considering integration of oil pressure management into the tune I’m currently testing. As far as the chassis stiffening goes, I’ve been around these things long enough (I work for Audi) to know these cars were designed for comfort hence a LOT of drivetrain slop. Tightening it all up was one of the first thing I did before even tracking the car/getting really deep into this. It helped make it a more responsive and direct drive (for what it is) and I’m almost positive I have some real feedback from the steering wheel now vs before, these cars are notoriously disconnected when it comes to feedback.

@@AHMoss Aram, Thank you very much for the reply and taking time to detail what you've found. Very interested to see if 034 can do something with the oil pressure/ ECU tune. I'd be inclined to use their tune over the other choices if that's the case. The Winter Autocross's I've been doing at Road America are very short runs without a lot of sustained loads. Even a light track day on the same track this summer will be a very different story. I'll be keeping an eye out for your updates!

@@michaelszabelski6142 Etuners Moscow have done it. I have seen a post on Instagram mentioning oil pump stage, so I messaged them. They told me they can control the forced activation of the 2nd stage in lower rpm depending on request.

where did you get you gauges?

034Motorsport installed the Oil Pressure Gauge. It’s a SpekPro

if I blew my turbo I would have gone with a bigger one😂 just another reason to upgrade🤷♂️

It would require too much investment for something I will not benefit greatly from, $776 I was done with a brand new factory turbo.
