2017 Audi A8L 4.0T Quattro - POV Test Drive | 0-60

Just found this video. Getting the 2016 version of this A8 with the same 4.0T. It gets a bit updated interior and the Audi S8 bumpers. This car stock is 3.8-3.9s 0-60 when you learn how to launch it. It needs a metal mesh turbo filter delete or relocation for reliability and then it's pretty reliable, surprisingly. Will do Stage 1 right away, which is 600hp and 650 ft-lbs of torque. That brings it around 3.4-3.5s 0-60 and power all throughout the RPM band. This even improved highway fuel economy. lol There is also a Stage 2 and 2+, but they require downpipes, cooling and RS7 turbos.. It ads up fast, but you can get 800+ hp reliably. A Stage 2+ A8/or S8 4.0T does 0-60 in 2.6-2.8s. That's insane for a large luxury car.

The 4.0T stock is about 4.5-4.7 seconds with LC. Only the S8 can do 3.8 seconds. A stage 1 will get it into mid-high 3s for sure.

@@DMCarReviews Not true, an A8 will do high 3s and there is video support on KZbin if you disagree. I’ve owned 3 of these. You need to brake boost the launch with both pedals to the floor.

I have the exact same car. Got a stage 1 tune. Fastest 0-60 is 3.48 seconds. Make sure you’re in “launch mode” when doing your 0-60 tests. It makes all the difference.

I can definitely see a 3.8-3.9s time, but 3.48s is a stretch just for a stage 1. I did the 2nd run in launch mode. Also, using a RaceBox or Dragy GPS is the way to get accurate times.

@@DMCarReviews​​⁠ yeah I thought the same thing but it was repeatable. I timed it used an ECU dongle. The cars computer already has all the information needed to give you an accurate 0-60, but my dongle also has an option to calibrate the speed using GPS. I don’t think it gets much more accurate than that. Prior to the tune I was already getting about 3.9-4.1. I’ve gotten sub 3.5 times on a few occasions. Can’t get it under 3.48 though.

@@Zeus_Pythias It's not a 3.9s car. That's an S8 time. You need a Dragy GPS to get accurate times.

@@DMCarReviewsI’ll have to get that then. But if the dongle is connected to the cars ECU and calibrates to GPS isn’t it the same thing? Are you saying the speed that the ECU is giving me (which is the same speed that displays on my dash and HUD) is incorrect? And regarding timing, obviously the app is doing all the work. It automatically starts once you take off and it gives you your time at 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100mph.

@@DMCarReviews​​⁠I ordered a Dragy from Amazon yesterday. lol Just did my first run. lol Got 3.67 on the Dragy and a 3.65 with my dongle. And that was with my wife in the car and all 6 of our bowling balls in the trunk. I’m fairly confident I can get a 3.5 on when the extra 250 lbs is gone. Haha
